Can anyone mute the little annoying box ad on deals.woot?

On the right column, using Forefox 15.01. Sometimes has a mute button but I have to move back to the tab and doesn't seem to stop it. Only started noticing the last week or two. Anyhow, if it helps the deals to keep coming, so be it.

Do you know about adblock? You really ought to try it. Unless you need to look at ads for some reason.

I second the recommendation of adblock. It's extremely helpful. I rarely see any ads and only on extremely rare occasions have had an issue where it blocked something it shouldn't

What you might need is Flashblock. I haven't heard any music from ads on Woot and I have Adblock turned off for the whole site. So, try Flashblock. I'd upgrade Firefox also; the current release is 19. However, I don't think that's related to your problem.

You can not block ads, how will anyone make money? Think of the children!
I can not wait until it is illegal to skip internet ads.

You have to vote up more before you can vote down.

Don't get us wrong. Negativity has its place. And downvotes are just as essential as upvotes when it comes to making Deals.Woot a useful place to find deals.

But when your votes lean so heavily toward the dark side, we have to wonder. Go vote up a few things. Accentuate the positive for a little while. It'll do you some good, and it'll do the site some good, too. Then you can get back to dealing out the smackdowns, OK?
