bug: The fresh tab for Ask The Wooters is broken
There are only four items, with no tab on the bottom for more items. The popular tab is working fine, so it's something specific to "fresh" (which is currently pretty stale).
@snapster: Agree with you completely. I reported an issue that I didn't see in the posts and was told it was asked before by someone else. Sure enough it shows up in a search. When mine disappears someone else might ask the same thing. It's possible that different people asking similar things at different times won't get all the aggregated responses to be popular because it wasn't all discussed within a short time.
@shrdlu: It's unknown what volume of questions will be posted at this stage, but a guess is 100+ a day giving us 300+ questions in the fresh buffer to review, plus maybe the 30-50 that made it to popular. Our current guess is that most people would be satisfied with the 30 popular questions where most of the action is, and a subset of that would try further to catch up looking through 100+ fresh questions that did not make popular.
The difficulty is that we're here with the private beta level volume - I definitely agree with your observations now. This is definitely a variable we'll need to keep a close eye on as we expand the community here posting questions and hopefully voting good question/discussion up as popular.
@snapster: I understand that if something's not popular, it fades, but 72 hours may not be long enough (many people disappear over the weekends due to having a life, or for other reasons). I am specifically speaking of the "Ask the Wooters" section when I say this, and I suggest that a week might be a more appropriate time (at least while things are in beta). In fact, rather than hunt all over the place, it might be nice to have a SPECIFIC place just for bugs so that "ask the wooters" could be used for the more prosaic purpose that may have been initially envisioned.
@shrdlu: its set at 72 hours right now, though that may still be too long at full participation flow - basically after a few hundred questions come in, it would be meaningless to have it longer and it would destroy the "most votes" focus. If you voted or commented on a deal it's in your activity tab. If you did neither, you probably weren't that interested in it, but you could find it again with a search. The one component that is definitely missing is sort by last-comment view and that arguably could benefit from an all inclusive tab for any relevant discussion that never makes it to popular. (and remember, if it was relevant to you when it was fresh, you would have voted or commented on it so it'd be in your tab)
Then we lose that continuity. They don't show up in Popular, and they don't show up in Fresh. Perhaps there needs to be an Archive button. I'm still waiting for them to fix the hideous mess that is the comment box (the one where you can't tell where the cursor is while you're typing, and the one that covers up what you're replying to, and the one that you can't go back and edit, no matter how egregious the typographical error).
I believe it's set to show 48 hours. So it will only show "more" if there are more than 10 questions in the last 48 hours.
