Is a creepy girl crawling out of your tv as well?

Woot's FAQ says:
Unless we specifically tell you not to, call the manufacturer of the product you bought. You will likely get a replacement of a new model or better item from them. If we still haven't dissuaded you, email rma@woot.com with your woot order number, the name of the product you are returning, and the detailed problem with the item. We will respond with return authorization by the next business day. Because we aren't likely to have a replacement in stock, you should be prepared for a refund-only option if that's all we can do. Know that return freight will be at your expense. Again, you will probably get a better deal from the manufacturer, or whoever else handling member service for that product.

@thefenst: That sounds a little tough to me. However, the day of manufacturers really stepping up to the plate, with service centers in convenient locations - gone, long gone.

I own a Toshiba 55" that I bought from Newegg last Xmas. Every once in awhile it will happen that I turn the TV off and a few minutes later it turns back on. I simply unplug it and that clears the glitch. I am not sure if this is what is occurring with your TV?

I also am having problems upon initial set-up and was told the same thing by Silo customer service. Not real happy!

someone in your house has one of those keychain remotes?

Well my Silo 42" turned off Sunday night and won't turn back on. Bought it Jul 14, DirectTV hooked it up July 24. Called Silo customer service at the number on the box - rudely told me to call WOOT. Does anyone know how to do that? Oh, really? Turns out no can do! Woot responds and tells me to call NVIS. Now I am supposed to pay to ship this thing back to them. My first woot purchase could be my one and only! UNHAPPY!

I've got the same thing happening - it randomly turns off and on. I've emailed both Woot and Silo Support. We'll see where it leads... Has anyone above made positive progress with either party. Seems like this is now a trend.

I talked to the Woot representative and she told me to contact the company that handles the warranty (NIVS USA). They told me to ship it out to them so I did (they sent me the shipping label but I had to pay for packaging because I had already thrown away the box at that point, the cost of packaging alone was $32.84, box and bubble wrap; hope that I can somehow get reimbursed for it). I haven't heard back from NIVS yet so I will post more when I find out

What makes me mad is how their website seems to be bunk.

I called the regarding not receiving screws for the TV to bolt to the mount, and they were supposed to email me a confirmation that they will mail them, but nothing has showed up in my inbox, this was 5 days ago. I don't have a valid email address for them either...

My SILO LTSL4267F started turning itself off just the other day. I covered up the IR receiver to make sure it wasn't receiving any interference but that didn't help. Sometimes the set stays on for an hour or two, at other times it immediately shuts off or after just a few minutes. The NVIS website is still unavailable and I have emailed the lety@sigmacusa.com for assistance. I will update this thread with any assistance received. Has anyone else received any assistance or advice for correcting this behavior?

I received my Silo tv back from NIVS but it still had problems (would turn off and on still) and then there was a new problem with it -- the source input menu would show up for no reason (even though I had already selected the source input and hadn't selected it from my remote). I decided enough is enough and returned the television back to Silo. This is after spending time and money on shipping the tv to get it repaired. I'm now also short another $62 for the cost of shipping the tv back to Woot. Note to self: I'm never gonna buy another expensive electronic product from Woot. Bought a new 50" plasma from Best Buy for $547 including tax and it works great. It also is covered for 2 years.

SIGMAC has responded to my request for support for this SILO HDTV and asked me to ship the TV to them (City of Industry, CA) for inspection and repair. I'll update this forum with more details as they become available.
