Challenge: Weed Eater
I am looking for a weedeater that is $120 or less. I do not want electric so its gas. I have a huge yard and I need something that can take out heavy duty weeds. This is what I am looking at
Poulan Pro PP125 17-Inch 25 cc 2-Cycle Gas-Powered Straight-Shaft String Trimmer with Split Shaft

Any other suggestions or thoughts on the one I am aiming towards?
If you intend to use it more than 2 seasons you should forget the 2 cycle and get a 4 stroke motor.
Thanks for the feedback. Do the 2 cycles just wear out quicker ?
@djbowman: "ask this old house" recently did an episode on weed eaters and the different kinds. There is even a propane style. I checked their website but there isn't any information on that episode.
While they don't review that specific Poulan model, another one (the PPB330, 33cc versus 25cc in the PP125) was a weak performer in Consumer Reports testing. Their top pick is the Stihl FS 45, which at $150 is a bit more than your target price.

If you're flexible on pricing then I highly recommend the Stihl based on my own experience with the corded electric model. It (along with a really long extension cord!) is a winner for my smallish yard. It's quite powerful, cutting through most woody-stemmed weeds easily, and very easy to reload with trimming line. The gas model should perform even better.
