Yet Another "Why Was it Deleted?" Question
I'm just trying to understand what I did wrong. I admittedly don't spend a lot of time here these days (getting ready for a baby!!), so I might have missed a discussion about why a deal like this would be removed. But I just don't understand why it would be considered unacceptable. Here's a picture of the deal:

It was for NPR's First Listen of Death Cab For Cutie's newest album. Basically it's their new album that will be released next week, available for unlimited free listening now (up until the release date).
Another similar deal was posted several months ago and was quite popular with 78 votes (and, more relevantly, it was not deleted): http://deals.woot.com/deals/details/be954752-79de-4080-804e-54e9314796a3/first-listen-gorillaz-new-cd-free-listen#17

I think the previous deal that was posted, was done in a time when things were more lenient. I'm trying to understand how what you posted was a deal. Sure, it was a cool thing, but you don't really get anything (unless you count the ability to listen to something for a week that vanished after that).
Just post it here, in the comments. That would seem like a better thing to do.
I'm curious about the big guy's response, but understand that @jumbowoot doesn't always comment, even when we ask nicely. Mr JW? Do you have any insights?
Wanted to note that I edited the tags, but I'm not ignoring the question -- I just don't, personally, have an answer. =)
@shrdlu: That's because you're ancient and don't understand how awesome that CD is.
We're looking into it.
I can't see this as really a deal.
You can't really get anything.
@jumbowoot: expect for an eargasm for a week straight
@jumbowoot: Thanks for the reply.
I guess I equate it getting free movie rentals. Like a free X-month membership to Netflix (a deal I've seen on your site more than once*), or a code for a free movie rental from Redbox. At the end of the deal you don't come away owning anything.
From that perspective, I think just about everyone here would have to agree that being granted free access to something that normally costs money - even if that access is only for a limited time - does have value.

@anotherhiggins: I'm gonna assume that the lack of replies is due to the fact that everyone is stunned into silence by the brilliance of my argument.
That must be it, right?
Right?
@anotherhiggins: Nope. It's because most people never saw your last comment. I only saw it because I browse from the comment tab. My original point still stands. You know I'm fond of you, but that just wasn't a deal. You could have just posted it as a "question" and pointed out that it was happening, and that it was cool, and that would have been that.
On the other hand, most of the absolute stunning DRECK that I see on Fresh lately means that I'm voting for about two or three things a day. If that. Community Deals ought to be renamed Shady Rest (double entendre intended).
