Fill them out and send them in. Then wait for refund(s) [if any] to arrive.

Motorcycle parts. My husband just bought a new bike. I need floorboards (pegs suck)!

Pay some bills...and some more bills...then a few more bills..... Yeah, pretty much just put everything towards bills. If, by any chance, there is money leftover, I'll put it into savings til bill day comes back around.

Got a T3i, save the rest or fly to Central America/Europe.

@dealseekerdude: Yup. I was going to say: "File them electronically" but your answer works.

I'll be filing electronically and applying the refund towards the replacement windows I signed up for this weekend. Got them on an 18 month deferred interest plan, so this refund and the next will go to them and I'll be busting my hump to get them paid off in time.

Mine will go toward paying down our massive credit card balance. My goal is to have that paid off by this time next year. My wife hates me right now, because I'm watching every penny she spends, but I think we'll both be much happier next year if we pay it off...

I was planning on filing mine.

I probably won't get to my taxes for a while because I'll be waiting a few days to ask this question again... And then I'll probably wait a little longer until someone else asks it in another few days.

Pay off one bill and save the rest. Two things accomplished and no wastage with the return.

Calculate what I OWE, then file them electronically at the last moment. Curse and Sob a lot for days on end. Embittered? Maybe just a bit - I find it disturbing (not the correct word) that some who pay NO taxes all year, get a refund. A refund for what? They paid NO taxes. Defies logic.

@gmwhit: My sister and I were both self employed. We filed with similar incomes every year. Every year I paid in, every year she got about the amount I paid in refunded to her - because of the child credits (even though she never paid in). So, every year, I told her, "You're welcome." Then watched her spend her refund.

File them with the appropriate taxing authority, but not electronically. I'll fill them out by hand with 7's that look like 1's and 8's that look like 9's so someone has to foot the columns by hand.
