Panasonic DMC-FH25K Camera: anyone have one?
I'm thinking of purchasing one for my almost 10 year old for Christmas and would like to hear what wooters think. He wants something that isn't huge and has a "good zoom." I want a camera he'll still appreciate as he gains skill with using its features. $135 is about our price limit if you're suggesting alternatives, thanks!

Can't discuss the specific model but Panasonic makes some nice point-and-shoot cameras. Some insist Canon is best but Panasonic competes by offering matching specs at lower prices. I've considered several Lumix models for myself.
At the high end, a G-12 or an S90 is hard to beat, but costing around $300-500!
A good starting point for camera reviews is the TestFreaks website.
Here is a link that filters their results for Panasonic cameras in the $100-200 range.
You'll see the FH-25 is highly ranked, #23 of 3429 rated cameras.
Look at Sony CyberShot DSC-H70 or Canon IXUS 220 HS
Thanks for that link, tpscan. It's great to be able to see both expert and user reviews in one place.
I actually do have this camera and am more than satisfied with it. Easy to use, handy size (so it's my "grab & go" camera) and great pics.
Over the weekend someone had the "black" color version for $99...also comes in blue, red, violet, and silver for variety.
