The original Jello Pudding Pop. Forget the new brand that's licensed the name in the last few years. They're terrible and I'm pretty sure they aren't even frozen pudding.

Nabisco bacon crackers. They were my favorite snack as a kid. They were discontinued about ten year ago, but with bacon making such a "comeback" lately, it would actually make sense for them to bring them back.

Being Canadian: I miss the following 3 things:

1. Tim Horton's Coffee - Way better than Starbucks, and way cheaper too
2. Lays Ketchup Chips
3. Kinder Suprise Eggs (with a toy in the middle that you assemble)

vote-for12vote-against

Planter's cheese balls...they were the greatest :(

vote-for11vote-against

Quisp cereal, oh how I miss that that beautiful propellor head...

vote-for10vote-against

I miss Crispy M&M's. Apparently still sold in Europe, but that makes it some expensive candy...

Purple Passion grape soda
Turkish Taffy (I can't really remember the brand, but I'd know it if I saw it)
Captain Crunch Cinnamon Cereal
Charles Chips & their Cheese Pretzels (We loved hearing the "Charlie Chip" van rolling into the neighborhood. Sounded like a UPS truck.)
Banana "Fudgesicles" (I SWEAR these thing were real. Brand might not be right, but they were creamier than today's banana frozen stuff on a stick)
Doritos Sour Cream and Onion Chips and the REAL Taco flavored Doritos
Indian Head Pumpkin Seeds (Loved getting them at Halloween--weird, I know)
Koogle Spread (I think there was a choco-peanut one)
Morton's Frozen Spaghetti in the Pot Pie pan
Munchos Chips
Kool-pops(?) (Loved the blue ones. They were so much better than the ones made now.)
Willy Wonka Super Skrunch Bar
Raspberry Zingers
Dolly Madison Chocolate Pudding Pies

My wife keeps going on about 3D Doritos...

WITHOUT QUESTION the ORGINAL Whatchamacallit bar without the caramel. So much better without!

Candy Cigarettes. (I know they're not really gone, but read on)

I miss them being in pretty much every dollar store or even some supermarkets. I miss them being called "cigarettes". But most of all, I miss being able to get them for like $0.20 a pack without having to buy some huge bulk pack of them off of Amazon.

SSSSSSSSSSSUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

@lavikinga: Bonomo Turkish Taffy--Ahh, memories. Breaking the bar up into pieces was so much fun. I used to slam it down onto the dining room table and make my Mom jump. I think there are some places that sell this online.

I would love to find the "banana" Fudgesicles. And speaking of Fudgesicles, I wish they would go back to the original recipe. Oh, well.

@kfujita: According to Wikipedia, there's good news for you:

In February 2012, Leaf Brands, LLC acquired the trademark and plans to reintroduce the classic brand back into the market by the end of 2012.[1]

By February 6 2013, Bonkers will introduce eight new flavors:

Peach
Apple (Red outside, green inside)
Lemon
Lime
Vanilla (Malagasy Vanilla outside, Vanilla cake inside)
Lemon-Lime (Lemon outside, Lime inside)
Vanilla-Peach (Malagasy Vanilla outside, Peach inside)
Peach-Apricot (Peach outside, Apricot inside)

Kinder Eggs are the best. I had quite the colection of toys from them when I was a kid, before Big Brother gave them the boot. They arn't technically discontinued but you can't buy them in the U.S. anymore. Your tax dollars protecting you from yourself.

I miss Jolt Cola. I know you can still find it here and there, but it is crazy to ship it to the house. I fondly remember driving across the border to Hardeeville, SC, as a teen, because it was no where to be found in Savannah. Oh the times when I lived on Marlboro lights, Snickers bars and Jolt Cola.
I also miss the original BB Bats.

OK Soda. It was a mid-90's Coke product that was essentially the canned equivalent of walking up to a soda fountain and dumping a little bit of everything into your cup. It was amazing, and their cans were unique even today:

@thefenst: THANK YOU, I've been trying for ages to remember what those Planters Crisps were. Heavens to Betsy, I could eat bags of those without ever wanting to stop.

And I second (or third or fourth) @jesseroo: Planters Cheez Balls. What's with this brand loyalty I've got going on here? More importantly, what's with Planters discontinuing THE MOST DELICIOUS FOODS ON THE PLANET? I, too, have never found a brand of cheese balls that compare. We used to clean the cans and my dad would use them for holding stuff (nails, screws, etc.) in his garage... every now and then I'll see a can in there and be sad.

vote-for5vote-against

@lichme: I prefer the Old Dutch Ketchup chips but only from Canada
There are a lot of chocolate bars that I can't get here that are only found in Canada like Coffee Crisp, Mr Big, O'Henry, Smarties but when I have family come visit I make them bring something

I may be the only soul on Earth who thinks this, but I actually really liked Crystal Pepsi.

Another thing that isn't discontinued, just really hard to find locally in stores is Apple Heads candies. Love love love them. For some reason I have a hard time justifying buying them online though.

Oh, and those black pepper jack Doritos. I inhaled the things.

vote-for5vote-against

@jesseroo: Wow, I had no idea they were discontinued. Little greasy cheese-like balls of flavor. My pediatrician kept a can of these in his office for kids after a check-up. Needless to say, I was one of the few kids that loved going to the doctor's office.

My friend told me that Planters had to legally call it "Cheez Balls" because there was no actual cheese in the product. Looking back on it, I would not be surprised.

As for the OP, I miss the old Choco Taco they served at Taco Bells. It was the only item on the menu that didn't put on airs of being "Authentic Mexican" food; it knew exactly what it was, a delicious smorgasbord of sweet goodness.

I also have a fond remembrance of Clear Pepsi.

vote-for5vote-against

@purplefeather: Crystal pepsi was interesting to look at, but nothing special. What I miss was the VERY limited edition "Pepsi Blue." It was colored solid blue and was berry flavored.

Though I also miss Coke BlāK.

vote-for5vote-against

Curly Wurlys! Cadbury made them and I believe they still do, but they aren't generally available in the US except at some few specialty shops. I stumbled on a place near Houston that specialized in hard-to-find and old timey items like this and nearly broke the bank buying Curly Wurlys and other such things!

vote-for5vote-against

@omnichad: coke blak was gross. Coffee and coke do not go well together imo. I still have an unopened bOttle in my room.
@bobmctooth: i wish they still sold those crispy m&m's! I remember telling my friends about them years ago and no one knew they existed! Which made me sad, cuz they were the best m&ms ive ever had

vote-for5vote-against

Wonka's Tangy Taffy. Laffy Taffy just isn't the same

vote-for4vote-against

Nestle Choco'lite candy bar. The new Hershey's Air Delight is close to it, but the Choco'lite was better.

vote-for4vote-against

@lichme: I had Tim Horton's when I went to Niagara Falls. The coffee is actually very good and I could go for a box of Timbits right now too!

vote-for4vote-against

@eeekdageek: I love all of the above. In case anybody is wondering : In the US, smarties are what I call "Rockets" in Canada, and Smarties in Canada are similar to M&M's but have a harder shell. Coffee Crisp is my favorite Chocolate bar.

vote-for4vote-against

Bubs Daddy bubble gum in the long ropes - sour apple was the best. Sweet sugary goodness.

vote-for4vote-against

@lpgstock: You can still get Quisp. My parents love it so much they order it, sold by the case, every six months or so from a distributor.

vote-for4vote-against

@thefenst: We were JUST reminiscing about PB Crisp! Kellogg has a cereal out called "Krave" which is like a stingy, adult version of Chocolate Crisp. Suffice to say, we were excited.

Also:
-Delfa Rolls
-OK Soda
-Dweebs(i think) -- a Nerds offshoot with three flavors; they were also bigger.
-Punkies -- early 90s candy riding the then-new punk comeback craze.

@lichme Yay a fellow Canadian! I too miss lays ketchup chips as well as all dressed ruffles! I also try and bring back chips and chocolate if I visit or if anyone comes to visit me! However, I have been able to find crunchie bars on amazon! I did find some smarties on a trip in Austin it was quite exciting!

Anyone remember Pepsi Clear or Clear Pepsi can't remember which one it was called.

I loved that stuff

vote-for4vote-against

@eeekdageek: Crystal Pepsi! Glad I'm not the only one who liked it!

vote-for4vote-against

there are a lot of good answers in this thread...

besides jello pudding pops, i'd have to say that i really miss bonkers. i really liked the chocolate ones for some reason.

vote-for4vote-against

@lichme: Probably 10 years ago there was a limited release of Lays Ketchup Chips in the US. They were glorious and I still check for them every time I go to the store hoping they come back.

This November I was up in Wisconsin and was in a store that had Herr's Heinz Ketchup chips. I bought a couple bags and they were a good enough substitute that when I go back up I plan on bringing several bags home.

vote-for4vote-against

@jazzmark: Thank you, @Lavikinga gave me a heads-up too. Amazon, why didn't I check there???!! Now I just have to breakout the Netflix, and look for some old Scooby Doo cartoon, pour myself a bowl of nice and crunchy Quisp and have at it!!!

vote-for3vote-against

@lichme: There are some Tim Horton's (very few but some) in the US (I'm assuming you moved to the US?)...also there are Lays Ketchup chips sold in the US (oh wait, I'm thinking of heinz ketchup chips...)

vote-for3vote-against

@jesseroo: Everybody always gets them confused with Heinz, which are nothing in comparison. The closest I have ever found a Timmies was in Michigan, which may as well be part of Canada as far as drive time. I never did understand why it has not branched out into more of the US.

@jha1223: Timbits are amazing! Now you made me homesick :(

vote-for3vote-against

Golden Fruit raisin biscuits

Cherry Cola Bubblicious

Are all that come to mind without too much thought. Most other things I think I could find somewhere if I scoured the internet for long enough.

vote-for3vote-against

@lichme: I was reading these and thinking, that's weird, Tim Horton's are all over the place here...

Guess were I live (oh - there's another one that wasn't there last night :)

vote-for3vote-against

@purplefeather: My friend still has an unopened bottle of Crystal Pepsi, although it has turned kind of amber now. Here's a funny quote about Crystal Pepsi from wikipedia:

Yum! Brands Chairman David C. Novak is credited with introducing the Crystal Pepsi concept. In a December 2007 interview,[10] he stated:

It was a tremendous learning experience. I still think it's the best idea I ever had, and the worst executed. A lot of times as a leader you think, "They don't get it; they don't see my vision." People were saying we should stop and address some issues along the way, and they were right. It would have been nice if I'd made sure the product tasted good. Once you have a great idea and you blow it, you don't get a chance to resurrect it.

@lichme: whereabouts in the states are you (out of curiosity), Timmy's is expanding in the states slowly but surely.(their US Partnership With Wendy's went south, now opening co-locations w/Cold stone Creamery.)
and i know it's not the same, but you can buy Tim Horton's coffee (beans and grounds, etc.)on amazon...
