lol omg, at least it's not Dora... It used to be Caillou for my kids. I thought that was bad and then they discovered Dora, Diego, Yo Gabba Gabba, Wonder Pets, Sid the Science Kid and a slew of others and I long for the days when it was just Caillou

But as for blocking programs, I've wondered about this too. My son tries to watch some Rated R stuff because he likes guns and explosions. the problem is all the f-bombs that he then repeats later.

Anyone know?

LOL Caillou is the winest person on the planet. My kids loved that show for a few months then I got them hooked on the old Transformers episodes and now that's all they watch. God I hate that show. Somewhat catchy jingle that gets stuck in your head though :(

@capguncowboy: My 3 year old was using my phone to look for movies and was watching laughing his butt off, so I get the phone and he's watching "Happy Tree Friends". I was like WOW not much of a kids show but looks like it by the cover art.

The Grandbabies just discovered Caillou and for now Mom and I are happy...it's helping them break their SpongeBob addiction. :-/ Good Luck!

@capguncowboy: There are parental controls available in your account options. I haven't tried it, so not sure how well it works, but they did provide the option.

As far as removing something specific, I've found that rating something with 1 star often gets it off my XBOX. It's still there if I search for it, but it's no longer in recommendations. It will, however, still show up in recently watched.

I've always wanted a "don't judge me" option, so that you can watch something without affecting your suggestions. So you could reminisce with a childhood movie without being bombarded with suggestions about current kids movies.

The only thing you can do is change what rating level is allowed to be played. This is done by going to "Your Account & Help" at the bottom of the page under "Membership" then clicking on "Change parental control setting" under "Preferences"

This will solve @capguncowboy's problem but not yours. There doesn't seem to be anyway to block specific programs I could find in my quick search. Also anytime you want to watch a movie that is block you have to change the settings. They really should add a PIN instead for that stuff.

It's better than Dora who teaches kids to run away and go on "adventures"

@jimeezlady: I'll take Spongebob any day of the week!

@capguncowboy: OMGoodness you are right about Dora, Diego & WP! I think Yo Gabba Gabba has hypnotist powers because I even catch my self zoned into it when it's on. Sids alright, but anything is better than Caillou!

Sorry to be so late to this thread, but I'm wondering if mommyleah found a way to remove Caillou from Netflix, and if so, HOW? I have Netflix on my iPhone, which is wonderful when we are out & about and in need of keeping my otherwise darling 4 year old occupied. "Someone" loaded an episode of this horror show for her to watch, and now I can't delete him from the Recently Watched list, so she watches each episode over and over and over. It's not just that he's so annoying I want to rip my ears off, the worst part is the terrible influence he has on my daughter's behavior. She can recite entire dialogues, which in itself illustrates how ill-mannered and spoiled Caillou is. But even worse is that my daughter is starting to emulate this behavior in her interactions with me and even with other kids, and I cannot tolerate it. Especially because she KNOWS BETTER. Somehow she thinks its funny to act this way. I need to eradicate all traces of this whiny POS from our media. HOW???

@ebone74: Soooo feel your pain! I took some advice from this thread and first down voted each Caillou that was available. I also got to the point of telling her a little white lie that Caillou is broken on netflix. After what looks like 2 months Caillou is finally off our list on Netflix. It did take at least a week or so for it to completely go away.

You might try showing her Labyrinth. Both my kids love it and for some reason it's the only movie that can play back to back without totally annoying me. :-)
