My budget's actually pretty decent this year as compared to past years. I probably spent 2K on Christmas presents for the family.
But to do that I had to sacrifice my one true want- Alienware 18in laptop- there just weren't any really good deals. I'd rather spend the money on what my family wants(on sale and at good prices) than blow 2K on a laptop I really can't justify spending full price on.

Full time nursing student with a job that will end in 3 1/2 weeks. No money in savings, as everything basically goes towards school, groceries, and gas. I do set aside a bit every paycheck for Woot and Woot-related items like the holiday guide. My big want: an HDTV. I'm still living with the huge TV and I'd like to get something better.

My budget started out huge, but that was mostly because I bought a diamond engagement ring for my now fiancee. Other than that, my budget is rather tiny, but thats what happens when you're student teaching 40 hours a week for free and only have time to work a lame part time job on the weekends.

My budget just got tighter because my grace period ended on my student loans. So now I have the equivalent of a car payment in addition to Seattle's cost of living/rent. I can't accommodate most of the electronics/pc upgrades I'd like - 2-3TB external, RAM upgrade, android tablet, etc. Le sigh. I also would like to actually get HD channels from Comcast but can't justify an extra $20/month for that, either.

I did splurge on a blu ray player, movies, and new work shoes over black Friday, so I can't say I'm really suffering. Have to save what's left for those other folks on the xmas list besides myself.
