I can neither confirm nor deny whether or not I've used the kit. If any other questions are asked, I'll be forced to take the 5th amendment.

Are you a cop? You have to answer that question! It's in all of the movies!

I couldn't lock myself out of my car if I wanted to. With power locks and no real car keys anymore, how can you lock yourself out? My alarm system probably wouldn't be too happy either.

Now if you were trying to lift a car...... different story.

The problem you run into is that in many states/jurisdictions the mere possession of this kit or even a set of lock picks constitutes a felony charge alone much less if you happened to have them in your possession and get caught up in something nefarious. I'm not trying to be gloom and doom but, with the propensity for flash-mobs/riots to break out any time any where, you could find yourself on the wrong side of law enforcement trying to come up with answers to some very pointed questions whilst being as pure as the driven snow. YMMV however.

I'm having trouble understanding how this would be used. You wouldn't keep this in your trunk or glove box because that wouldn't make any sense. That leaves the garage or home. But if you're already home, wouldn't you just grab the spare key?

@juan2345678: Good point, but I usually find myself having stuff like this in my trunk mostly to help out other folks. For example, since I drive a stick shift I've never ever needed jumper cables (not that it's precluded, just that my discharged-battery-events have never left it dead enough to not push start) but I carry them and have helped quite a number of folks at times. I have a slim-jim and helped open an F-150 once out in the middle of nowhere after a 5k mud race. Cans of fix-a-flat will make you an absolute hero to someone in dress clothes late for work (though I personally would prefer not use them). Cheap Ikea umbrellas... etc. etc. etc.

@juan2345678: You could keep it in your belt with the secret zippered pouch along with your switchblade.
