Suggestions for a rugged iPad2 case for a Speech Therapist?
My wife just graduated from ASU with a degree in Speech Pathology and I got her an iPad2 for christmas as a combined graduation/xmas gift since I know she will be able to put it to great use in her future profession. Though after holding it yesterday morning I am worried that it may become easily damaged without a good case since most of her clients are going to be special needs children who can at times be a little rough on electronics.
So my question is, Does anyone have any good suggestions for a stout and rugged case for it?
I am a speech therapist as well and I frequently use my iPhone in therapy. I have an Otterbox Defender series on my phone and it has survived plenty of falls, spills/droolings, and less than gentle usage. When I can afford an iPad, I will be getting an Otterbox Defender case for it, too.
Has your wife checked out the app Autism Apps yet? Depending on the group she is working with, it could come in handy.
I have a Targus case that I really like (Targus Versavu 360 Degrees Rotating Stand, from Amazon) with a Zagg screen cover on it. That said, for a really great case, if you can wait, I would check out Lifeproof (linked below). We have their iPhone 4 cover, and it is great. It's much less bulky than any of the others I've seen, and is completely water/snow/dirt/drop-proof.

Congrats to your wife on her graduation. That's a very noble career choice. And good on you for getting her an iPad. :)
@happyapple: I second the otter cases. I don't have an iPad, but I dropped my HTC Evo from waist level onto the sidewalk where it bounced off the ground and slid out into the street. Not a scratch on it and the case still looks great.
@happyapple: Awesome suggestion for the Autism Apps, I let her know about it and she is excited to check it out.
From everything we have looked at thus far, it looks like the Otterbox Defender is most likely what we will end up going with in the end. Thank you all for the suggestions and the congrats, You were all very helpful. :-)
