My staying awake late will not affect the outcome of the election. It will, however, impact the job I have to do in the morning so no, I'm going to bed early and will be up early to read the results before work.

I will! I am fervently hoping that I won't have to stay up until December like that one time . . .

I have heard that New York is considering adding a day of voting depending on turnout, but I don't know how solid that is.

@inkycatz: That's my plan too. The internets will tell me the outcome (or lack thereof) and provide useful links to anything interesting and/or humorous said by talking heads during the coverage.

I might watch part of it but will definitely not stay up late.

Unless I'm doing night work that night!

I'll have to get up extra early to vote tomorrow so I'll probably be too tired to stay up late. I'll probably end up watching some of it though.

This will be a couple day thing for sure! Recounts abound. The only thing decided the first night will be who starts with appeals. Sad but true!

Nope. I will cast my vote and be annoyed at all the breaking news coverage later. Just count the votes and give the results. I do not need a minute by minute breakdown of who said they voted what. This does not mean I am not interested in the results. I just dislike the round and round talk about maybe this area voted this way and that area had a low turnout. I will go to bed early and hold out for the morning news.

I'm on the West Coast, so "staying up" to watch the results is me going to bed around the same time I usually do. What I do like is that I now have DirecTV for this election, so I can watch the "News Mix" channel aggregator to see all the networks call the winner.

I will stay up late to watch and if my choice wins I will go outside at whatever time it becomes official and shoot my gun into the air repeatedly. If my choices loses I will do the same thing.

There are some votes that are not counted until the next day that were questioned and resolved. In a really tight race, it is possible the actual results will not be available. So, for many reasons, I would not stay up any later than usual, which for me is 1am whatever time zone usually. At present it is pst.

vote-for2vote-against

Nah, it won't change anything and I need my sleep.

vote-for5vote-against

Nope. There will be a politician elected no matter what I do.

After putting up with so much spam and junk mail and unwanted opinions for the last few months, you bet I'm going to stay up and watch! I want to watch it all come to an end...until the next time.

vote-for-3vote-against

meh, drudgereport.com will call it early. granted it is as reliable as theonion.com, but still ..

vote-for-2vote-against

Wait! There's an election tomorrow?? Who's running so I can decide who to vote for?

vote-for1vote-against

I'll probably watch some of it, but definitely won't feel the need to stay up for all of it.
I'll check it in the morning.

Depends on how close the various exit polls show it to be. If it looks like a runaway, I'll not stay up. If it's a nail biter that waiting for more results from Colorado or Nevada may make a difference, then I will likely stay up.

If by "watch election results" you mean play Halo 4 all night... Then, yes, I'll be doing that.
