I youtube a lot, but mostly to hear those earworms that consume me. And then to find different earworms to relieve me of the one I tired of.

Edit to add [You Keep Me Hangin' On](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKQbcJyVKR0.

Not really sure why I'm still hangin' on. Welcome back devexityspace

@gmwhit: Thanks, I realized I'm no longer hanging on anymore.. just passing through on occasion..

You can consider me the Doctor Who of Woot! ... Except I don't have the power to save it :(

@devexityspace: Wow! You win! I check it out from time to time, usually just following a link from a friend or from an update to a channel I've subscribed to, but I don't watch it nearly as much as you.

However, I do enjoy music videos on YouTube sometime. As @gmwhit posted, it comes in handy to rid myself of an earworm. Strangely, or maybe not so strangely as I am on a deal-seeking binge, this is my current earworm, despite the fact that I am not a fan of rap music.

Ok, not so much the whut whut whut part. It's the refrain that won't get out of my head!

Great how to resource. Results of trying to imitate what a competent person does in a YouTube video are usually comic. So far not tragic. :)

Not all that much but becoming more frequent:
- How-to videos for all kinds of things. Product reviews & comparisons.
- Specific songs or covers (I am a guitar player and learn new things by watching others), performances by amazing young upcoming amateur or pre-professional players (Tai Wilkenfeld for example who is now playing for Jeff Beck))
- to 'get' references made in other forums or sources
- listening to debates or rebuttals to stupid opinions (like conspiracy theorists, Religionists, incorrect Constitutional interpretation etc.)

Zero. I do not use youtube ever unless someone is showing me some stupid video I don't care to see.

I wouldn't say I use it for hours every day, but I'm sure I use it every day (usually).

I use it mainly for these purposes:
-Discovering music (awesome jazz, classical, and alternative rock :)
-Cooking
-Bike repair
-stupid (but entertaining) videos that friends post on Facebook or here :)
-Home repair (ok, this one is for the future, because I'm sure I'll use it tons.... once I have a home.

There is some cool educational stuff on YouTube now. Watch a few vids by Numberphile, for example.

As others have said, it is a very useful reference source. I recently learned how to tighten the wrist strap on my son's baseball glove, which required pulling some of the lace out and then relacing it. I had no clue how to do this, and found several walk throughs on YouTube that showed me step by step what to do.

I know my kids go to it all the time to figure out how to do things, mostly video-gaming related.

I do, however, also enjoy a good sneezing panda video every now and then.

At least 30 minutes ever other day... but only like to help me relax. There's a growing phenomenon with videos that are called ASMR videos that I'm addicted to. If you've ever gotten like... tingles... when someone played with your hair or when you watched someone do something really slowly or heard like crinkly sounds and it gives you a good feeling like in your head or back, then you probably have ASMR. My favorites are ASMRmassage or GentleWhispering.

I run a small computer retail store and repair shop and often find myself using YouTube as a means to perform specific repairs. Being able to see inside a laptop before I actually crack the case is useful in saving time, energy and preventing mistakes. Additionally, for simple questions that aren't so simple for the layperson, like how to delete cookies in their browser, I will often refer them to YouTube. This saves both of us time and frustration, especially when the customer isn't in my store for me to provide visual aids.
