For those of you interested in a Springs Fire update
Early yesterday morning a fire began here in my hometown of Camarillo. At about 7:00am CHP had closed the freeway in an effort to fight the fire. At this time the fire was at 100 acres. fire moved & grew very quickly & began moving west right towards our town's University which is where My home is located. At approximately 10:00 am they evacuated the campus. I was over 40 minutes away & was unable to get home in time to grab anything. By noon the fire had grown to 2500 acres, destroying everything in its path. Luckily, it missed all of the homes on the university campus. By the evening, the fire had grown to 6500 acres & began moving towards the sea. We were allowed back in our homes around 7:00pm. At 9:00 pm the fire chief announced on the news that we were to be re-evacuated although there was never any word of a re-evacuation on the campus. Luckily during this time I was able to get into my home & grab things. Police opened up the campus fully to residents after midnight.
