Nope. Sorry, but I avoid those like I avoid repo men.

@jsimsace: I've never tried it before, but thought I'd take it for a test run.

Yes! Will have to make a list of everything I got. Will just say this for now - incredible deal! I paid extra for more. Came in a large box. Backpack was stuffed. Extras were loose in the box.

@gmwhit: awesome! Can't wait to find out what you got. I hope mine comes soon!!

I'm also curious what gmwhit received. I saw a couple people get theirs, but there were pretty disappointing (including VHS tapes).

I received my tracking number a little over a week ago, but sadly FedEx still shows no activity on it, just the standard 'Tracking Information Received' message. I just put in a support ticket with them. We'll see what happens.

@bingo969: I recd my tracking info on the first but it's still just showing as "initiated" with no info. Let me know if they respond to your ticket.

I got their Christmas Stocking a while back and it was pretty good. I'm looking forward to hearing what was in this one and probably regretting the fact that I didn't buy one.

@gmwhit: i'm dying to know what was in your pack! Can you share the highlights?

Update: Three weeks from order date and it still hasn't shipped. Unless it's packed full of awesomeness this will be the last one I order. This is an unreasonable amount of time to have to wait.

I have ordered 3 different mystery items/boxes from ThatDailyDeal, and they have all been tremendous. Always get a bunch of extremely useless (half the fun), clever trinkets, or fairly useful items. The items received always end up exceeding the cost paid. ORdered the mystery backpack on the 26th, and shipping info still says "Info Received" by fedex with no update 3 weeks later. Contacted their support and they said those who are taking longer most likely means they are putting more effort into the stuff they are getting.

I checked their site today and it says mine shipped. Looking forward to receiving it!

@RADIOOPTIMISM: @BELYNDAG: @GMWHIT: @JERTYRAEL:
My bag finally showed up yesterday. When I emailed them previously they replied back that while the tracking numbers had generated the items still wouldn't be shipping for the previously stated 2-3 week lead time.

I got the "extra" overstuffed backpack deal for $30 bucks. It was a pretty big gamble at that high of a price. I don't really regret it but not sure I'd ever do one that expensive again. I did go into this knowing they aren't Woot and you aren't going to see Woot-level payouts on these things.

I don't know if it's luck or if they really did pay attention to the note I included with the order. They mentioned you could leave a note for what color/style you wanted and if they could they'd try to get you that one. I mentioned one I'd like for my hiking/photography blog. I wound up getting some outdoors-y type stuff in my backpack along with some real crap.

I received a decent blue backpack. It's pretty small but it's well built for it's size. Company I've never heard of. Core Sports Inc. If the backpack was at least 6 inches longer it would be something highly useful. As is, it's slightly smaller than a Jansport daypack. A great bag but too small to be see a lot of use. Would work well as a kids bookbag.

Included in the shipping box was: some sort of Snuggie knockoff thingy. Also was a collapsible folding stool thing. Might see some use out of that. I think that was the $10 "upgrade" part.

Pulled the backpack out and it was moderately full of items.
2 items were quickly trashed - VHS tapes. One about a Michigan football rivalry and another that was a play.
Next was one of those Peticure nail trimmer things. I might get some use out of that in my garage as a cheap Dremel type sander. lol
A pair of fuzzy toe socks. Look cute but kids sized.
As Seen On TV armband tool magnet holder thing. Kinda cool if cheesy

A Ladies hair remover thing. Gave to neighbor to give his wife
A "bag cap" thing for sealing open bags.
A small box of firestarter things. Compacted sawdust bricks. I'll use those for sure.
A medium quality grill topper for grilling vegetables and other small items. Again something I'll use though it isn't super heavy duty so it's not going to last a long time.

So all total, probably worth 30 bucks, just not necessarily to me. That's why I say I don't really regret it - just not sure I'd do it again.

Thanks for the fun though.

@bingo969: Thanks for the update! Mine is en route and I should receive it this week. Also got the upgraded bag and will post what i receive here.

@bingo969: That's not a bad turn out. I prefer the mystery items outside of Woot, as the bags of crap from Woot are cheaper, the turn out is usually pretty predictable. Look at the forums, and expect to get the same thing. Usually Yugster & Thatdailydeal mystery items are far more random. It presents way more excitement, which to me is most of the novelty. Not so much the items I get, but the knowledge that I have no idea what it could be.

@radiooptimism @gmwhit @bingo969 Mystery Backpack of Mystery came today! Was going to do an unboxing video, but after waiting a full month for this I got impatient and just opened it. I received

-Nice black backpack
-2 VHS tapes - Michigan vs Ohio St & "Shattered Lies"
-Amazing Pocket Chair - MY FAVORITE ITEM. I opened this first and sat on it while opening the rest
-Bodytrends Health and Fitness Bands
-Firestarter brick
-Water Resistant Flashlight
-Peticure pet grooming tool
-Bag Cap (for putting a lid on plastic bags
-Smooth Away - for the hairy ladies
-Tool Band It (as seen on TV). Magnetized arm-band
-Wire fryer thingy
-Nonstick grill topper. I'll prolly use this for the veggies. Just seems like one more thing to clean.
-6 bottle tops (turns those cans into bottles made of can?)
-Some snuggie-looking thing with pockets.

Not a bad haul, but I don't know if it was worth the wait and price. I'll probably stick to BOC's from here on out and leave the Mystery Backpacks alone.
