I don't think I even made it to 10:30pm; woke up at 5am yesterday. My NYE tradition for many years has pretty much been "sleep right through it" anyways.

vote-for8vote-against

I barely made it. I watched the original episode of "Dexter" and it was over about 12:10.

vote-for13vote-against

Barely made it to midnight. It wasn't the same without Dick Clark...I didn't go out, but stayed in with my family and turned in after kissing all my girls Happy New Year!

vote-for6vote-against

@107bear: I missed Dick Clark, too! I watched the Ryan Seacrest show just to see the Dick Clark clips from the past, very cool.

vote-for6vote-against

@ohcheri: Yeah, that guy never seemed to age...even when his health went south he was still a class act.

vote-for6vote-against

Just barely made it past midnight. We went out with a group of friends (all parents) we did our countdown with New York an hour before us and then headed home, I know lame right?

vote-for8vote-against

I did. But then the fireworks that start about 10 minutes to midnight and last until 0230 or so made it pretty easy. Germany. They loves them some fireworks.

vote-for8vote-against

Was up til about 2:30. Had a teen party at our church.

ALL videogames should be played on a projector!

vote-for5vote-against

Went to bed at 1:30 central. No problem staying up this year.

vote-for6vote-against

I made it, was at a party with family and friends until around 1:30am, then came home, checked woot and went to bed!

vote-for6vote-against

I went to bed at about 10:30 as well. I had a headache and was feeling the start of a cold coming on. I had no desire to sit up for another couple hours.

vote-for7vote-against

Made it! Had friends over - a tradition and watched Seacrest. Really missed Dick Clark. We grew up with him in our lives. Yes, this foursome of 65+ saw 2013 come I !

vote-for7vote-against

We watched the ball drop (I'm not even sure which channel we were watching on, but it was NOT Ryan Seacrest [shudder]. Then we smooched and went to bed.

We lead a quiet life.

vote-for10vote-against

Yep, I was up until 1:30, playing video games with the family. Lots of noise outside at midnight, which sent my cat running behind the couch. Sadly, we had no vuvuzelas this year for the kids to go outside with and make lots of noise like they did last year. Note: Plastic vuvuzelas are great while they last, but once used as baseball bats they break very quickly.

vote-for7vote-against

I celebrated New Years with the East Coast (I'm in Central Time) with some friends and then headed home. I read for a bit and turned off my light at 12:01. So, technically I was awake at midnight, but just barely.

vote-for5vote-against

1130 and I was out like a light. We drove home from El Paso after the Sun Bowl, went to a friends house for their party for a little bit. The wife and I were done and had to go home and get the sack.

vote-for6vote-against

Went to bed at 5:00 am PST, (staying up is typically not a big deal for me) but I was at a party with live music until 2.

vote-for9vote-against

Bartended rookie night. Made it home, to bed by three. Had to be at my real job at ten thirty. Zzzzzzzzz

vote-for6vote-against

Rarely go to bed until after 1am eastern here, so I stayed up for the ball drop np. Definitely not the same without Dick Clark.

vote-for8vote-against

I did but only because I was finishing an almost 600 mile drive home yesterday and made the mistake of drinking an energy drink at 8pm.

vote-for6vote-against

I stayed up - never go to bed before 2AM. My dil called when it was a few minutes before 11 (CST). I'm EST...so I wished her a Happy New Year in my time. Still on the phone an hour later, then wished her a Happy New Year in her time. Didn't watch the ball drop in N.Y. Did hear a lot of fireworks!!

Hope everyone here has a Happy, Healthy & Prosperous New Year! :-D

vote-for5vote-against

I was up until 6am EST, playing Forza Horizon
but that had nothing to do with New Years.
Worked a "mid-shift" yesterday(10:30a-7p),
Starting a Run of Thirds tonight (10:45p-7:15a).
I should really be in bed right now....

vote-for6vote-against

Made it to 2:30 Pacific time. Happy New Year everyone!

vote-for4vote-against

Nope. I was waching reruns on TV and lasted until maybe 9 EST. I did work a long busy day yesterday so I did not think I would be up that late. I hate working mornings. I do have today off but back early tomorrow.

vote-for5vote-against

Stayed up till 1 am est. Once the ball dropped, we sat on the front porch (about 32 deg out) and watched fireworks . Then we watched some omore of Kathy Griffen and Anderson Cooper and called it a night!. Our 10 year old may it till midnight, he was excited to see the ball drop too!

vote-for5vote-against

Fell asleep at 10:30. Woke up at 11:45. Back to sleep at 12:15. What can I say but to much Nyquil. My nieces and nephews incubators managed to infect me on Christmas.

vote-for7vote-against

I did. I'm usually up past (or around) midnight anyways, so it was just another night for me. Just, with a little more alcohol.

vote-for5vote-against

I'm almost always stay up past midnight anyways (even last New Years when I had a stomach bug) so it was no problem for me. I was up until around 4.

vote-for5vote-against

We thought the grandkids (12, 6 and 3) would poop out but they were up and raring to go. Watched our little towns ball drop, saw the fireworks and crashed about 1.

vote-for6vote-against

I'm afraid that I not only made it to 12:00, but I also nearly made it till dawn. Couldn't get to sleep for the life of me, although I read a lot and cuddled with a certain kitty. Luckily I could sleep away much of today, which I have done. I'm sure I'll hear that Woot! brought back the buckets of carrots while I slept and that everyone else in the universe scored.

vote-for8vote-against

i havent been to bed yet... tonight i will sleep good

vote-for6vote-against

Got home at about 3:15 am. Helped my mom with a few things, finally gave up around 3:45. Laid in bed with a book for a few minutes while I got warm enough to sleep; rolled over around 4:15.

vote-for6vote-against

Oh yeah. We got home at about 3:30am. Our night started with our close group being taken out to dinner at a local steakhouse by a friend as our Christmas gift (delicious and a GREAT way to spend grown up time with your friends! Also, a good excuse to dress up.) Then, we all stopped at home and through on our jeans and hoodies, grabbed the snacks and bubbly, and played RockBank until 3am.

Happy New Year!

vote-for5vote-against

@devexityspace: Hey, me too! But I doubt that I'll get some sleep "on time" tonight.
Hubby and I are "upside down" usually due to the amount of pain. What a vicious life!

Happy New Year, everyone!

vote-for5vote-against

we made it! I was surprised that my husband did but he said I was entertaining him enough (by making snarky comments about the impending DOOM of the fiscal cliff...get your mind out of the gutter!) to stay awake. We caught up on a few shows on the DVR which took us up to 11:55, so we watched the ball drop and went to bed. Thrilling evening for sure :)

vote-for5vote-against

I'm usually up until at least 1pm (eastern) anyway, so I was up for the midnight call of the new year. Flat out refused to watch the ball drop on TV. No Dick Clark = so not for me! Being only 2 hours from the city, one of these times I'm going to have to watch the ball drop in person, but I've never been motivated enough to do so...nor had enough money to stay in the city afterwards (required in my book). Maybe next year...or not. I spent the evening reading...and tormenting my cats (kissing them, lol). Worked for me, kept today low key too, didn't feel like doing anything...lazy bum day for me lol!~

vote-for7vote-against

Up past midnight most nights but the cats were confused because the TV usually goes off at 10:30 or so and I move to my office. Was very strange without Dick Clark.

vote-for6vote-against

I was out with my pyro crew doing a fireworks show. That particular one shoots in sync with midnight EST even though we're in CST (that's 11:00pm local), and I got home about 2:30am and in bed about 3:30am CST. Pyrotechnics make a surprising amount of grime I don't want in my bed.

TL;DR Yep, I saw midnight local, and a good ways beyond.

vote-for6vote-against

I stay up past midnight (heck, past 1) almost every night. So, yes.

vote-for8vote-against

I stayed up past midnight, but I had to take a nap earlier in the day to make sure I made it.

I can't decide if that makes me feel like a little kid, or an old man.

vote-for5vote-against

Stayed up till 1AM, this was the first in a long time, usually fell asleep long beforehand.

vote-for5vote-against

I rarely manage to make it to midnight, but this year I was invited to a party at a bowling alley. I really enjoyed it. Was up until two and didn't mind a bit.

vote-for6vote-against

Up past 12, forgot to check woot. We do not watch the count down shows until 5 minutes till time. I have not liked pop music since I was 10. We watched a movie, shut it down 5 till, picked which channel was more tolerable, listened to Imagine sung poorly, toasted, kissed, and flipped back on the movie.

vote-for5vote-against

My husband and I made it with the big kid and the baby. Baby (6mo) was the most excited, and frantically shook the room by bouncing in her jump-a-roo when we wished her a happy New Year. Big kid made his exit to brush teeth right after the ball, since he and husband had plans to see the Hobbit before the hangovers made it out of bed the next morning. The baby could not be convinced she was done celebrating until about 1:30, so I crashed shortly thereafter.

vote-for5vote-against

Me, because I was at a concert. Even if I hadn't been, the combined noise from my upstairs neighbors and/or fireworks would have kept me awake. On the awesome side, slept in late. :)

vote-for4vote-against

Yes, I stayed up past midnight. I spent a few hours on the phone with some friends in the CST until it was after midnight their time (I'm in the PST). I still haven't been to sleep, almost 32 hours later. I wish I could have slept through it, but I have chronic insomnia.

vote-for4vote-against

Went to sleep at 11:30pm MST.

vote-for4vote-against

nope, went to bed around 10:30...which has been typical for me the past few NYE's

vote-for4vote-against

I tried, but by the time I had finished my applesauce and Murder She Wrote was over I was out like a light.. maybe next year.

Seriously though, there were like 15 strange people probably 100yrds away from where I live lighting off huge mortars and rockets all night until probably 2-3am.. the funny part is, all of that stuff is illegal here but apparently the cops didn't care.

vote-for5vote-against

We made it to midnight. Went to the big event downtown, had a few drinks, watched the acorn drop...typical New Years :-)
