What is the most expensive cell phone bill you have unknowingly incurred?
Sometimes cell phone companies are ridiculous by not notifying you if you go over your text messaging, data, etc, etc.

I got a bill for $465 in November. I had gotten a notice that I was over my minutes, but I had grossly underestimated the cost per overage minute. I don't blame anyone but myself however.
We had been in the process of buying a house and I had used my phone all month during October to set up inspections, meetings with my realtor/mortgage broker, contacting my bank for proof of funds, etc.
I don't think your carrier should be responsible for telling you that you're running out of minutes. That's like saying the gas station is responsible for telling you that you're running out of gas. They provide all sorts of methods of checking your plans, and it should be your responsibility to utilize them to your benefit.
steps off of soapbox
$620 dollars when i took a trip to Canada for training. Apparently free roaming does not include data rates. Called AT&T and they gave me an exception after I put up a stink.
Going WAY back when I first got a cell phone, back when cell phones weren't ubiquitous, back when I was really young and a student and poor, I once got a cell phone bill for like $500.
That was instead of my usual bill of $30.
I started going through the itemized call log and found impossible discrepancies.... There'd be a call made from Washington DC at 11:01 followed by a call made from New York 2 minutes later, that kind of thing.
I was fuming. I called customer service ready to really lay into somebody about their company's incompetence.
Before I said a word, the Customer Service Rep, upon seeing my phone number, said, "Oh, we show there have been fraudulent charges on your account. We have removed those charges and your bill is the normal $30. We apologize....".
I was really impressed with their customer service and fraud detection software, but had no one upon whom to take out my rage.
That night I killed my first hobo*.
*That's a horrible joke, I've never killed anyone.
@anotherhiggins: That's exactly the kind of thing someone who had killed a hobo would say... *suspicious eyes *
