The Woot Off sites are messed up. I have yellow zig zag lines all over each of the pages and the "I Want One" button is gone. Also the yellow lights are stationary and there is three on each page, one on top and one running down each edge of the screen. None of the item pics are there. Tried logging out several times and rebooting and its the same. Did I stroke out or something? Maybe it's a sign I don't need anymore junk. God help me.

No problems using Firefox...

Working OK here. Did you try a different browser?

I'm at work using Firefox. Wow it's really messed up.

Now the thumbnail pics under the "Community" tab have yellow X's through them. I think this might be a worker's comp case since I'm at work and seeing yellow.

It's working fine for me from home in IE and Firefox and on my Android tablet.

Maybe your job is using a web filter or some such to screw with you.

Or maybe you are having an occular migraine.

Or maybe it really is a stroke.

Good luck in any case.

My biggest issue is that it takes the site about 20-30 seconds to load a new item after the sellout. Makes me feel like I am missing out and will miss out on the BOC tomorrow.

@whatsmypassword: I'm with others who suggest that this is deliberate on your employer's part. When we used to block places we didn't want people to go to, it just put up a nice red banner, instead of the page, warning them that the attempt had been logged. Perhaps someone is believing that subtlety will work.

@shrdlu: you might be right because IE is no better. All the sentences run together and the fonts are all different sizes even in the same sentence. It's a gd conspiracy.

I'm not aware of any technical issues going on so I'm sad to say probably just you. :(

@whatsmypassword: My, you are looking a little peaked. How's that cold? Could it possibly be the flu? Maybe you should take a sick day and stay home tomorrow.

I'm running into lag and intermittent server and coding errors here on deals. Using Chrome.

vote-for4vote-against

@thumperchick: Also having problems w/deals. Service errors, Yikes and Runtime errors. Intermittent, obviously. Using IE.

I'm seeing general errors with respect to Deals, but not with the main sites. Since I haunt Wine dot Woot during these times, it bothers me far less than it might otherwise.

Perhaps a gentle poke in the direction of @shawnmiller or @josefresno will alert them to difficulties, although I'm quite sure that they already know. They're usually on top of things. I even saw some brief scripts, which suggests a transient coding error.

@gmwhit: Well, if we are all in the same larger area, it could be a larger internet issue. I'm in Upstate NY and we have ice forming everywhere - that can cause overall issues with the web. Since deals has a lot more information to decode, it could be showing here more than other sites? Then again, if you're on the west coast, my little theory is crap and deals is broken.

Well, there WAS that odd bit about 2 hours ago with my PM notifications. Wine.woot said I had 2 PMs, Woot Proper said I had 5 PMs and one of the other sites said 3 PMs waiting. Weird thing was, when I clicked to retrieve them, there was nothing to be seen & I received this message:
Either there are no topics, or due to a filter, there are no topics to display. Please check the display options to determine if a filter is applied.

Display options???

@thumperchick: Probably crap, unless you think Florida is having the same problem as icy upperstate NY. :-| It has been chilly here for a few weeks, but not that drastic. Then again, we're on the same coast, so I guess it's possible. Nah....

vote-for4vote-against

@thumperchick, @gmwhit, and @lavikinga: It is not a larger internet issue. I would have pointed it out, right away, had it been. It may be an Amazon cloud issue, though. I'm on the west coast, in the northwest. The thing that makes me believe it's not even an Amazon cloud issue (even though I just now hedged my bets by saying it might be) is that the other Woot sites are not having problems, and they've ALL been moved to the cloud.

They don't share most of the code base with Deals, and may or may not occupy neighboring space in the cloud. It'll settle out. I think that sometimes things seem somehow more problematic during wootoffs, and I'm not sure why that is.

Maybe it's just luck of the draw. Who can say?

@shrdlu: Thanks for the explanation. Since I'm not technically oriented, most of it went floating over my head - clouds and all that jargon. ;-) Personally, I think that deals is jealous of all the woot offs, and is either being spiteful & snotty, or is occasionally sobbing because of abandonment problems.

@shrdlu: So, what you're really saying is... the code monkeys took a coffee break and went bananas?

Maybe you should check the nemesis question...muahhahhhaahha
