So, no server errors right now?

I've been on for a few minutes now and it looks like this morning's problems have been eradicated. Yay DealsDotWoot team!

I just thought I'd mention it "out loud" to freak out folks who believe in jinxes.

Now, if you could just fix the leaderboard, that'd be great. I'm assuming it's broken. I mean, how else could I possibly have a purple triangle???

Please oh please, dear woot, please validate me.

I'm sad to hear that you are also suffering the curse of the dead meters. I'd hoped it was something alphabetical, and I was just towards the bottom of the list, but you've thoroughly dashed that hope. :-(

@josefresno: Please make me a new promise. The 12 hour thing wore off quite a while ago, and while others have been restored, @anotherhiggins and I are still off in the wastelands, suffering mightily.

@josefresno; Please let us know when equilibrium will be restored to the universe and @shrdlu and @anotherhiggins will resume their rightful places in the World of Woot. Seriously, though I'm happy to be black again, I find it hard to understand why I'm being told to vote for more Deals.I voted for 32 Deals on Monday and more than 30 the last two days. Woot wouldn't want me to just vote for everything, would they (you)?

I've got "the bends" but in reverse. 70, y'all!
I thought I'd be sadder about the angle change, but the only thing I'm disappointed about is no longer being qualified to attend quaint quarterly membership meetings of the Quaking Aspen Treehouse. I've no qualms that sometime soon this might change, but I remain in a quandary why the quarrelsome gauges refuse to quell their queer need to quite misbehave. It's quite a quagmire indeed.
So quit playing around with things that ARE working and work on things that AREN'T!

Due to an accident in Deals.Woot land, many black triangle users got their voted on scores wiped out yesterday. They are being put back, albeit a bit slowly because black triangles tend to have lots and lots of votes (a good thing).

There is some work being done so that reputations gets recalculated more often than every 4-5 days (Which I think we should all concur is a broken rep system if it takes that long to recalculate) However, the rep system is not the highest priority so you may have to live with purple just for a little bit longer....

@meyerk0: Don't read too much into that hint, it is mostly there to provide new members with some general info on how to improve their rep. Black triangles should just need to be active on the site and continue quality contributions to maintain their status. (at least that is our intention)

@anotherhiggins: Hah. This just means I will be LAST to be repaired. You may recall that, back in the day when the nascent leaderboard consisted of most comments, most votes, most questions, most deals, that I proved over and over that I was indeed a chatty beast. In addition, I've voted on a BUNCH of stuff, over time. Mercy me, a whole huge BUNCH. Deals, Questions, Comments, all of it.

Maybe mine will be fixed by the time I wake up tomorrow. :-(

I'm going shopping. I love retail therapy.

@josefresno: Is it better if I don't vote for things right now? I don't see any effect at all on the meters, but then that shouldn't surprise me, since there's been no recalculation for me since the fall. I wish there was some ETA other than just guessing on when things will be fixed.

@abramokids: Yeah, but I'm close to the edge of falling back off. At least the meters are pegged, so it's not so bad as it was. I will be glad when reputation reflects what you've done in the past few minutes or hours, and not something that gets calculated every few days, and is unconnected to any behavior that most can see (but we know it's all about voting and posting deals).

I got mine back last night, and now I'm back down to purple again.

Is that really their goal? Because that sounds really, really, really, really stupid.

I thought a primary reason for the color-scale was to give others - especially new-ish members - some idea of the reliability of a deal (or question/comment). If a black-triangle posts a deal, there's a good chance it's not a scam site. That kind of thing.

But it sounds like soon a black triangle won't say anything about the member's long-term standing in the community, only that they've been feverishly voting up the right deals for a few hours??

I might have understated how stupid I think that sounds.

What am I missing?

@anotherhiggins: You bring up a good point. It took me quite a while to make it up to black looks at triangle I mean purple due to the slow updating nature of the leaderboard. I assume they will make the process of working up the ladder take longer or something like that to avoid such a problem
