What is you favorite local beer?
For me my favorite local beer would be Surly Darkness (it only comes out 1 time a year but is a great Russian imperial stout) but for local beer that I can get regularly would be Surly's Furious. That is a great hoppy beer that is not an IPA, more of a crimson ale with a lot of flavor.
Our local A&W Rootbeer joint is pretty good, does that count?
The closest thing I have to local beer is Shiner, but I'm okay with that.
Saint Arnold
Brewed and bottles right here in Houston. Good stuff too.
The tours are awesome. $10 gets you samples of 4 beers, or buy a glass ($5-$10) and they fill those up instead of the small sample glass.
@rprebel: Love me some Shiner. The whole line is good.
@wickedd365: I love the Bock. The Blonde, Black, and Hefeweizen are good, but not favorites. I tried Kosmos Reserve when it came out in '97 (I don't care what wikipedia says...I had it in winter '97), but it tasted like I was drinking wood. Apparently they've changed the flavor since then, but I haven't seen it in years. Then again...I haven't been looking.
if you like dark beers, try to find deschutes abyss (from bend, OR). it's released in november/december and is pretty limited. it's my favorite beer period....
I live near the Stone Brewery, and am lucky that I like nearly all of their beers. But my vote will go to the Sublimely Self Righteous Ale.
yuengling for me, only 11 miles from home.
I generally don't like dark beers or beverages that come in cans, but I do love Santa Fe Brewing's Java Imperial Stout!
The other local taste treat is Rio Grand Pancho Verde Chile Cervesa.
Oops! Rio Grande not Grand (trying to get an edit in too quickly).
Shotgun Betty IPA. It's yummy and has a great label:

The only local beer that I'm aware of is Lonestar. I've personally never tasted horse piss, but I'm fairly certain that Lonestar will be the closest to it, flavor-wise.
Hmmm... several local breweries to choose from in and around NY City.
My favorite is probably Blue Point Toasted Lager (made in Patchogue, NY, maybe 50 miles away), though there are a fair number of smaller brew pubs that turn out very nice beers, just not on an "always available" basis.
My favorite local brewery is Flying Dog. Good IPAs, especially Raging Bitch. One of my favorites.
Lucky Bucket Lager is mighty tasty and is made about 5 minutes from my house.
My favorite local (really local) beer is the homebrew IPA in my kegerator. But my current favorite local commercial beer is Widmer's Nelson Imperial IPA. The Widmer brothers' dad used to be my insurance agent -- hard to get more local than that! :-)
Me favorite Dogfishhead Raison d'Etre. Me like.
@urocyon: Tried that one for the first time recently. Pretty delicious.
Mine is Monk in the Trunk...brewed in Jupiter, FL by Inlet Brewing Company...
