What is your favorite long lost (discontinued or reformulated) candy?
When I was but a child in the '70's, I was fascinated by Garbage Candy, which came in a plastic garbage can and consisted of (more or less) SweetTart/Tart 'n' Tiny-type candy in shapes like odd socks, fish skeletons and empty cans. There was something very similar that came in a locker, and a seasonal skeletal variation that came in a coffin. This style of candy is not in fashion any more and I can't find anything even approximating it.
Ferrara Pan made a bug-shaped candy, discontinued a couple of years ago (I think; I only ever saw it in dollar stores), which was the EXACT right consistency and flavor. So they still have the technology and correct chemicals to make it; it's just that no one does.
What candy has been lost or reformulated into extinction for you?
PS Fun fact: According to wikipedia, Garbage Candy was invented by Pulitzer Prize-winning comic book artist Art Spiegelman!
