The maximum size cap for ssd's is 256 GB, so that only leaves the 250 and 256 GB sizes.

I found this auction on ebay for a 250GB OCZ Vertex, and maybe it may stay below your budget(thanks for posting that btw): http://cgi.ebay.com/OCZ-Vertex-250-GB-SATA-II-Solid-State-Drive-SSD-2-5_W0QQitemZ320456298721QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPCC_Drives_Storage_Internal?hash=item4a9caf10e1#ht_5658wt_1165

Deals on 80GB drives have just started appearing, so it will be a real stroke of luck to find any deal.

@snapster: @lukeduff was telling me today about 1TB SSD drives that are scary fast using RAID and PCI Express. Nearly $5000 right now: http://bit.ly/6Jd9rm

@shrdlu: When I saw that thing with that much capacity, I drooled a little, then I saw the price tag and had a mild stroke.

@shawnmiller: Since you need this to compile this site faster, can't woot maybe, I don't know, foot the bill?

@catbertthegreat: Well, now you know they exist, so you should be able to find one for @shawnmiller (I think the one I posted isn't actually available until restocking, but the site's reasonably trustworthy).

@shrdlu: Problem is that @shawnmiller needs this to fit in his laptop. 256GB is the limit for 2.5 inch notebook drives. All these bigger ones are 3.5 inch.
