I've only been there for Comiccon, we made time to go to the zoo and the animal park (which was cooler than the zoo) but haven't seen much of the rest of San Diego. There are some nice harbor cruises available reasonably priced from $22-40. Depending on luck and the time of year you can see whales and other marine mammals. There are a bunch of websites but here's one:

If you are there for breakfast on a weekday, hit Aunt Emma's Pancake House. I think the one in Chula Vista is on the way to the zoo. They have an amazing weekday special.

I just found this complete list of the attractions on the Go San Diego Card. You won't be there long enough to make a dent i it, but it is a good list.

Find me a job and a place to live so I can move there please! Tired of the sub zero wind chills here in Ohio. I work third shift at a foundry and there is no heat so the past few nights I have froze my a** off and can't stop thinking about moving somewhere warm.

@housry23: It's 68 and sunny from horizon to horizon in El Paso right now, winds at 4mph and 13% humidity. The low tonight will be 41. It will be 73 tomorrow and 71 on Friday, which I have off. It's seriously hot in the summer, but very dry so it isn't as bad. And our winters are very temperate.

If budget permits, Sea World is pretty awesome if you guys haven't been there yet. I think it'll be pretty fun. I'd check Costco out (if you're a member of it) for any deals that they may have.

If Sea World is too much, the USS Midway (Tickets is about half of Sea World I believe, or less) which is essentially an aircraft carrier which planes and helicopters than you can hop into (but cannot fly). But what you can do (which is hella fun) is go in the jet simulators in there (for an extra price, but well worth it) and pretty much pilot your own plane (all I've done were spins and dives, forget all the other planes that I had to shoot down). You can also tour the carrier and learn some history. They have discounts, see website.

All the very much free-side, just go to the beaches and malls there. It's really beautiful.

But if you're there for 3/4th the day, I'd say either the Midway or Beaches (which are close together) is a pretty safe bet.

Speaking of the USS Midway, it's right next to a very awesome seafood restaurant called "The Fish Market" which is also right next to the ocean. It's pretty cool to see some boats just go by while you're eating.

Right next to the restaurant (and in between the Midway) is also a rather enormous "Unconditional Love" statue (and some other statues around there too, from WWII I believe).

These are really great photo-ops.

Thanks for the ideas! Looks like it's going to be wet out there, so I'm going to have to take that into account.
