What code does deals.woot use?
I've posted a bunch of places, but I can't quite figure out what markup language they are using on deals.woot. It doesn't seem to be bbcode, or html, or anything else I know. Can anyone tell me what code standard they use here? If there isn't one, can we please use this thread to talk about what we know we can do?
For example, asterisks are definitely italics but I can't figure much else out. Anyone know how to make an embedded link? Bold font? Etc?
aaaaaaaaaaaaand I feel stupid. Yes, it does very much. Thank you!
Regular woot sites use bb code, DW uses it's own system.
The only four I know of are:
* text * for italics (remove spaces)
* * text * * for bold (remove spaces)
* * * text * * * for bold italics (remove spaces)
[text] (url) for hyperlink (remove space)
Coupon Code!
That's the real answer.
It's not The Da Vinci Code.
@jrpigman: Don't feel bad, I probably couldn't find that page again if I didn't have it bookmarked. :)
Not all of the features are supported, but Deals.Woot uses Markdown.
Must be too early in the morning for our quick on the draw quipsters. I expected to see:
Zip Code
Secret Code
Dress Code
Morse Code
Although @jsimace: did come through with Da Vinci Code and @cowboydann:'s Coupon Code!
