How many times a day does the leaderboard update?

I notice it refreshes for me a few times during the day, but is it a set time, or just fielded sporadically whenever someone at the deals.woot! office has time?

@mikeymet: haha, sorry for the initial sarcasm (I sometimes let Woot staff's playful cynicism infect my responses as well) ><

It'd be hard to say exactly. I've noticed that the amount of time that it shows since it was "last updated" varies greatly usually within the one hour range. However that does not stop my ranking to change on the ranking list during that time when it has, supposedly, not been updated. I've also noticed that the number shown above your profile sometimes differs from the number on the list of top users.

If I had to guess, I'd say around once every 15 - 25 minutes, based on my spaztastic tendencies to keep checking while I'm browsing the rest of the site :)

It seems pretty sporadic, so maybe it's a low-priority task for the servers; if not much is happening, then recalculate.

I dunno ... maybe the sporadic part is just me. I'm down to a purple triangle now.

@dmaz I figured the changes to my ranking throughout the day were a result of other deals.wooters accounts being updated at different times. Thusly affecting the overall ranking, despite it being in between updates for my personal account.

But when your votes lean so heavily toward the dark side, we have to wonder. Go vote up a few things. Accentuate the positive for a little while. It'll do you some good, and it'll do the site some good, too. Then you can get back to dealing out the smackdowns, OK?
