Anything you can do, I can do better - Are you competitive?

There is always a lot of friendly competition around here. For first posts, quality posts, top deals. Most people are very competitive (myself included). My initial goal was black triangle, then to hit 100%, then my most recent achieved goal was top 15 in all 4 categories (was not easy and I am sure it will not last).

My question is, here at woot or elsewhere, do you have somebody who you absolutely must beat? Is there any reason why? When you win, do you rub it in? Personally, and I have said this before, @carl669 is my nemesis and @cowboydann is on my watchlist, only for the fact that they are so awesome.

My goal is to be mediocre. So far, I've been moderately successful.

@lichme: Too old to be 'competitive.' Or maybe I just don't find anything interesting enough to care. Do know that in the book category - I win by many many 1,000's. ::sweet little old lady smile::

Top 15? Really? Pffffft. Set your goals a little higher, like #1 in all categories. Congrats!

I accidentally closed my response now i'm mad. You get the short version now.

I don't really compete in woot anymore. The only thing I have left to #1 is the deals posted spot but I doubt that will ever happen. My only half-goal on woot nowadays is to find a day where I can be really really helpful and get 10 QPs.

I always have friendly competitions with my co-worker. If you beat the other person in sales 3 months in a row the loser has to pay for a pizza. It's only happened once (and I still chipped in 5 dollars and then bought a few sodas). I guess I'm competitive but only when it's something that nobody cares about.

Honestly, I don't take anything serious enough to be truly competitive.

My ring tone for my wife is "Anything you can do I can do better", because she says I am so competitive.

I am not a sore loser and do not rub it in unless they deserve it.

Geez, why so negative?

You have to vote up more before you can vote down.

Don't get us wrong. Negativity has its place. And downvotes are just as essential as upvotes when it comes to making Deals.Woot a useful place to find deals.

But when your votes lean so heavily toward the dark side, we have to wonder. Go vote up a few things. Accentuate the positive for a little while. It'll do you some good, and it'll do the site some good, too. Then you can get back to dealing out the smackdowns, OK?
