What beer (or wine) pairs with bacon?
I used to frequent a restaurant that would let you order a strip of bacon with every bourbon shot. I never really understood that, but salty delicious foods go amazingly well with beer... which raises the question, which beer should go with bacon? Is it a smoky porter, or a crisp lager? I'm thinking you may want to avoid hops. Is there a wine that supports it?
And, strictly as a bonus, have some classy cheladas. (Conflicted.)
Pabst Blue Ribbon for the beer. Trust me on this one.
Sam Adams Boston Lager. Yum.
Or any smokey whiskey. Double yum. drools
When it comes to beer-I kind of like them all.
bacon infused bourbon is awesome!
now as to the question: YES.
What's cold?
@lumpthar: Can't drink Pabst. Adjunct lagers with a certain level of rice content seems to trigger wicked headaches for me.
I think a Scottish Wee Heavy or a Belgian Dubbel would work well.
Both are malty enough to stand up to the bacon, and don't have much hop presence.
Your suggestion of porter would be pretty good as well.
Or, if you wanted to pair like flavors:

Beer in a bottle, can, glass or cup. No need to be pickey.
