Yes (well yes next time I'm in the office later this week)! @agingdragqueen is our Election Sticker Queen this year. Maybe if we're nice she'll share her resource. :)

I have not gone to vote yet, I will this evening, but there are a bunch of people here at work that went this morning, and they are all wearing their "I Voted" stickers, so yes they still give them out here in MD & PA.

vote-for9vote-against

I got one at early voting last week. It's nicer than the ones I have had in the past, full color Presidential seal. I saved it rather than wearing it. If anyone is giving away anything today for people with I voted stickers I could put it on today-- I'll have to watch and see if anything gets posted.

vote-for8vote-against

@moondrake: That sounds like a fun challenge, hint hint. :)

vote-for5vote-against

@moondrake: I just got an email from johnnyrockets that they're doing 20% off with an "I Voted" sticker.

When I had my "I Voted" sticker in 2000, I went through the Chipotle line twice... It was a really long day for me since I was working for a newspaper at the time.

vote-for9vote-against

Wait? There are 'I Voted' stickers out there?! I've never gotten one in all they years I've voted. Excuse me while I cry, I would LOVE an 'I Voted' sticker!

I think I'll make my own with some paper here at work, some marker and some tape, would that count?

vote-for20vote-against

No, and I am crabby about it!

Although if you go to Starbucks today, they will give you a free red, white, and blue bracelet, so I'm mollifying myself with that.

vote-for6vote-against

Here in Colorado they included a "I voted" sticker in our mail in ballots, pretty cool.

vote-for5vote-against

I almost forgot to grab one when I turned in my ballot, but a friendly lady behind me reminded me.

vote-for5vote-against

@jmattoon: Jealous!
@baybei: Every little bit counts, post a pic of it too! :)

vote-for2vote-against

Who pays for those stickers?

vote-for4vote-against

I'm in the same voting boat as @baybei. I don't recall EVER getting a sticker for voting. Has to vote early this year since I am in Yosemite today (GLORIOUS!!!), and have no way to make my own sticker, either. Dang!

vote-for4vote-against

No, I got a creepy feeling when one of the poll workers I've never seen in my life recognized me from my apartment building and said that there are no secrets in my town.

vote-for3vote-against

Not yet. The lines were at least 2 hours long at 7 AM. I needed to be at work at 8, so I'm trying again at lunch.

Early voting wouldn't have worked either since the lines for that were consistently 3-4 hours long.

It was pouring rain for me while I was getting ready this morning. By the time youngest daughter & I headed out the door the clouds were parting, the temperature had dropped and the sun was shining. Poor kid has a wicked cold, but was adamant about getting out to vote. I think taking all three of my little ones along with me when I voted over the years helped enforce the importance of casting a ballot.

Busy at our polling place, but no waiting for a booth in spite of the fact our ballot was 2 pages front and back with loads of amendments to decide--over 3000 words, all in legalese I know many of the people who live in my district can barely understand let alone understand the ramifications of voting for or against.

Free stickers AND candy for those who had voted--I think this is where the poll volunteers get rid of their leftover Halloween candy. Young one seems to remember doughnuts & cider being offered at one time in her voting life.

vote-for4vote-against

I got 3, one for each time. ;)

Actually, I did get my one sticker, and got interviewed by a newspaper reporter on the way in. Now I'm famous!

vote-for5vote-against

@baybei: This is the one I usually get:

This is the one I got this time:
http://www.kfoxtv.com/news/news/i-voted-stickers-misspelled/nSmGs/
Apparently there's a misspelling on it, but the font's so small I can't see it.
Here are some funny ones if you are going to make your own:

vote-for3vote-against

I have never seen one, except on TV. They do not hand them out here, I have voted every election I was eligible.

vote-for2vote-against

Nope, I did a mail in ballot that had a sticker on it but could not peel it off to wear :( I also have about 3 Obama stickers hiding in my house so I'm not cut off in traffic or flipped off while driving my kids around town. Cant wait for this election to finally be at an end.

vote-for3vote-against

No sticker, but I voted with an abssentee ballot and hoped when I mailed it it would arrive and be counted. I was very surprised to receive an email this week acknowledging receipt!! That is very good.

vote-for6vote-against

@curli76: You want a REALLY creepy feeling? My son missed the Primary election due to school. Last week he received a piece of mail encouraging him to vote in the upcoming election. The creepy part was that it listed the names of others on our street and whether they had voted recently or not.

While it's probably a matter of public record who casts a ballot and who does not, we all found it rather disconcerting & just a tad intimidating that this information was shared willy nilly with our neighbors without them actually requesting the information.

vote-for3vote-against

@moondrake: I find it amusing that someone posted a "high res" version of the "I voted" sticker. The last one I had (not the same as any that you linked to) was a round red sticker with white letters on it, no graphics of any kind.

vote-for2vote-against

Well I just went to Chipotle and no discounted or free burrito today I had to pay full price :(

vote-for11vote-against

So, here's my homemade sticker. I traced a small Dixie cup for the circle, then used the bottom of it for support (super thin paper!), and used red and blue permanent markers to color it in. I then taped the bottom of the Dixie cup and the paper together with clear packing tape. I then used folded over tape to tape it onto my shirt!

@baybei: Good job. Looks very 60's to me for some reason. maybe it's the alternating text colors.

vote-for3vote-against

No, because they didn't have any. :(

vote-for4vote-against

@lavikinga: I got that mail, too. I liked how it said we hadn't voted in 2004 in Iowa. Of course, we weren't even living in the state that year.

vote-for3vote-against

@moondrake and @inkycatz Thank you!

I did my best with what I had available. And, I think it came out pretty darn good!

60s-ish, huh? I guess, and block letters of course, lol!~

vote-for4vote-against

@lavikinga: We received that also and the other folks I've spoken to around here who received it have all felt uncomfortable with it as well.

vote-for11vote-against

Once I found out that Washington voted by mail, I invested a whole $5 in this thing so now no one around me will go without a democratic participation sticker.

vote-for7vote-against

@agingdragqueen: aw, adq, sweet gesture. If you drop off your ballot at an official drop off place, there are stickers provided for you.

For those wondering, I drove over and asked the county auditor who paid for them (since someone was wondering). The answer is that the auditor's office does, at least in WA. I've got stickers for elections dating back to before most folks here in Wooterville were born.

There was a local news guy there, trying to get people to talk to him (and mostly we all gave him the cold shoulder). I did offer to "fix" his camera, but he wisely declined. I always drop my ballot off, rather than mailing it, and one of the reasons is that I miss real voting...and besides, that's the only way to get a sticker. :-D

[Edit] I also voted up a bunch of comments. Yay!

vote-for4vote-against

My workplace just handed out branded "I Voted" stickers. Yay.

vote-for1vote-against

I have never received an "I voted" sticker. I guess it may depend on your city/county.

vote-for3vote-against

I have always received an I voted sticker for the last 20 years or so. This year I got an "I voted early" sticker for the first time. My daughter got an "I'm a Georgia Voter" Peach sticker in Atlanta, looks really great.

vote-for6vote-against

No! And, the lady at the polling station had stickers that said "Vote", so I asked for one. She said they are "for the 5th graders." I said, "they can't vote, but I did.. I'd like a sticker".. then we got into a circular conversation of "no" and "but, I just voted" until I figured it was best to not cause a scene, and I left :-)

vote-for3vote-against

No! In 2 states, 3 counties, and 10 years - I have NEVER gotten a voting sticker. But... I want one. :(

vote-for1vote-against

No. There were thousands of the things at my polling place but I did not take one. I guess I'm an idealist - every adult ought to voting, so I assume everybody does who qualifies for the franchise. No need to advertise the fact.

vote-for2vote-against

I got one, and they gave one to my 9 year old (and even offered one for each of her 2 dolls). I can only remember one time I didn't get one, and I was annoyed about it all day.

I've never gotten something free with it, though. Hmmmm... I will have to look into that.

vote-for2vote-against

Sure did. One for me and one for my 10 year old son.
