Can anyone recommend a good quality office chair for between $100-200?

Looking to get a new office chair, preferably one that has a modern style without having to pay a lot of money. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Hi @prosperouscheat - Thank you for sharing, I can understand why you may think that. I have personally used the chair and it is very comfortable. The straps are a leatherette upholstery that give the chair excellent back support.

No, I can't. Every "inexpensive" office chair I have purchased has been awful. The one I bought from Office Depot (Or was it Office Max? Oh well...) on sale was originally around $260, however the gas piston for it died in a week.

I got a replacement, still haven't put it in, but the thing just doesn't feel quite as substantial as I would have hoped.

The Ikea chair I bought before this - awful.

If you are willing to purchase used, I would highly recommend checking Craigslist for either Steelcase or Herman Miller chairs. There was one on there recently in my area for $125. Not an Aeron, but a quality chair. Obviously, try before you buy to be sure it is good condition, but those things hold up well. The chairs they had in the office I worked in were phenomenal, however those were also closer to $800-$1000 chairs!

I go into my local Staples and Office Depot weekly for a bit to check out their weekly bulk buy sales. They often have good deals that way.

Pretty comfy; still functioning, as far as I know -- gave it to a friend and bought another one on sale from Office *. (It was a $400 chair on sale, better lumbar support, etc.)
