What beer will you drink on International Beer Day?
This Sunday (08/05/2012), the world will celebrate beer. It’s officially International Beer Day, “a worldwide celebration of beer on Aug. 5, taking place in pubs, clubs, bars, breweries, beer gardens and back yards all over the world.”
There are officially 334 celebrations planned across 193 cities in 46 countries.
I think I'll head over to Port Aransas, TX for a stop at the Port A Brewing Company. Have one of their craft frosty cold beers or two and their "best in Texas" Stopher Burger.
Any beer that can't outrun me :)
Seriously, my current favorite beer is Green Flash Double Stout Black Ale. Very yummy and pairs well with chocolate cake... two great tastes that taste great together.
What do you have that's cold? Seriously, though, it doesn't have to be cold.
Right now I am working on a 6 pack of Goose Island 312 Urban Wheat Ale. I think I will likely celebrate with that tomorrow. Although I am going out to lunch at a new restaurant so I may have some new options to try there.
@ohcheri that sounds delicious! I will have to check it out.
I'm gonna go completely international. Sam Adams from America, Guinness from Ireland, Beck's from Germany, and Corona from Mexico. I'll also drink any free beers you have and are willing to share. Also, you can't forget PBR. It's like George Washington going down your throat.
@ohcheri and @mkdr: At risk of sounding like an AOL'er from the 1990's, I am going to say, "ME TOO!"
@captainsuperdawg: It's like George Washington going down your throat.
What a gem.
@captainsuperdawg: Nice! Never seen that before. "Drink it, you a$$hole."
@captainsuperdawg: Well, now I feel like it is my patriotic duty to get me some PBR.
Thanks for the excuse. I think I will have a gaggle of my favorites compete. The winner will be chosen when I have a vowel movement.
Probably a nice Chocolate Stout or a German Wheat Beer. Haven't decided yet
I didn't know it was a holiday but it sounds like as good excuse as any to drink some Guinness.
I have a 22oz bottle of cherry wheat that I brewed last summer. It's been sitting in my fridge since it conditioned and should still be quite good (it was extremely good last summer, probably my best brew ever).
I'll probably also have some Raspberry Shock Top and Sam Adams Blackberry Witbier, as I happen to have a few bottles of each left over from vacation last week.
It is a shame it is so humid right now, as I need to get my next beers (a dark porter and a Belgian triple) brewed or else they won't be ready when I need them (in October and December, respectively).
None as I don't like beer. I'll buy my brother some Heineken though, he'll appreciate that!
I have some Lindeman's Framboise in the fridge, so I'll go with that.
Steel Reserve and Old English!
Because malt liquor is beer too :D
I live in the land of hipsters though - where we have more microbrews than people - so I probably should support one of the locals.. they do make great beer though. As ashamed as I am to admit it, I haven't been drinking much beer lately, so it'll do me some good :), thanks for the excuse to drink
I also have a beer kit I bought from Midwest awhile back I need to make too.. hope the hops and stuff are still good..
I'm waiting for Hard Cider Day. Hot Mulled Cider Day is September 30 so I'm thinking Oct 1st. And for beer, anything Dogfish Head.
Happy beer week!
I will probably have a pint of honey ale that I brewed earlier this year, as well a couple of pints of graff cider I made.
Boddies!
Gulden Draak -- if I can find it. Awesome with meat and truffle enhanced foods.
@mellielou: Use this link to find your closest Gulden Draak. For me the closest place is 187 miles away.
Shipyard Pumpkinhead Just released for the season. I'll be drinking that.
Epic Brewing "825 S State". It's a stout from their elevated series. Delicious. And I will drive to 825 S State (the location of the brewery) to get one :)
I believe I will have some Wasatch Polygamy Porter.
Actually, I have no idea where to purchase it (and prefer wine to beer in any case), but the name and the label both make me laugh.

"Why have just one?"
