FWIW - When shipping isn't free, it is easy peasy to discover shipping cost. Simply add something to your cart, then click to view your cart. There is a box for your zip code in the cart area. Add your zip, and your shipping is automatically shown.

I found this. Wow they are impressive in what they give back to the community. http://www.csnstores.com/newscenter.asp

Reminds me a bit of http://www.homedecorators.com/ Some of the merchandise is similar. Good to hear about another decent company out there. Thanks, @debbiedunlap.
By any chance, was the kitchen island the one that has a drop down breakfast bar on one side and drawers and cabinets on the other (and on wheels)?

edit: been window shopping on the web site. Oh dear, @debbiedunlap, what have you done to me?

@lavikinga: don't worry @debbiedunlap she says the same thing to me all the time about shopping.

@lavikinga: Yes, it is the one with the drop leaf. With four doors across the front. If you go to my deals, you'll find it on the second page, I think.

I was hunting for something with a little extra storage, a little extra width, and as much counter space as I could get. This island, for the price, is amazing. The three of us put it together in about an hour and a half, with no problems at all. And I absolutely couldn't believe how quickly it arrived on our doorstep. With the free shipping, I was expecting to see it in weeks, not days.

[edit] Oh, and it's very sturdy and well put together. My daughter is especially pleased that it has drawers. Her kitchen currently has no drawers nor any counter space. Until she is able to renovate the kitchen, this island is vital to her sanity!

@hobbit: Wow! They really do give back to the community! Definitely going to have to do more shopping with CSN stores.

Maybe I'll make that my Deals goal. To go through all of their stores and find some stellar deals. I don't know if they'll be popular deals. For example, I never expected the kitchen island to be popular - how many people need a rolling kitchen island, but it was a fabulous deal. But I'll make sure they're great deals on whatever I find.

@lavikinga, my husband has almost gotten used to something arriving almost daily. "Who's this one for?" is his mantra. He especially liked the little cars from KidsWoot that I got a week ago. I love that there is always a gift on hand, for whatever occassion, sitting ready and waiting in my Christmas cupboard. Went to a wedding last weekend and gave the couple some nice Corning Ware (or was it Pyrex). Very nice, large piece that I'd bought for literally pennies.

@debbiedunlap: I have this same model! We opted for the stainless steel top. If the granite had been available, I would have purchased it instead--better for working with dough. It's been a great asset in our kitchen and has held up very well for the last 5 years! The only problem we've had is the side panel where the knife block attaches works its way loose down towards the wheel. I don't notice until the adjustable shelf inside falls off the pegs :) I'd definitely buy one of these again.

@lavikinga: My daughter opted not to attach the knife block. Wonder if that will eliminate the problem you've had. Thanks for the head's up.

@debbiedunlap: It's more of a crumb catcher and holder of unused knives. I think it's more from wheeling it around the sweep underneath, or working dough on it. It only takes a whack with the mallet to smack it back together ;)

@lavikinga: So it's probably not a great loss not attaching the knife block? Smacking with a mallet ... HA!!
