The deals are good on black friday. But the refurbished HP's that are on here put shame to any pc on sale of black friday especially for the cost. I presume you have a monitor so the ones on here are $380 at most, they are usually 6 or 8gb and 1-1.5tb quad cores. They are the way to go and you are a Wooter then!

That model computer came with a 250 watt power supply. Replacements can be had for less than $30 and should be really easy for you to swap out. Given that the machine came with Vista, it should be Win7 (and Win8) capable, so I would replace the power supply. I'd still scope out black Friday deals, but having an extra computer around is never a bad thing.

My $.02: If your computer was adequate before the P/S crapped out, then replace it. I tend to keep things running until they no longer meet my needs - cars, computers, appliances, etc. Spending ~$30 (+/-) to fix your PC is a lot less than $400, which you can then spend on (your choice of hobbies, activities or people here).

If you were unhappy with it before it died, or if you've got the disposable income, then you have an excuse to upgrade. In which case, can I have your old computer?

@nortonsark: This is true. Newegg had a 650psu Fatality for $40 after mail in rebate.
