Do you volunteer for any charities during the holiday season?
I tend to volunteer year round for a couple places locally, but I don't necessarily do anything specifically for the holiday season. If you do, do you prefer donating your actual time, or making a donation?

Volunteering time doesn't usually work out for me during the holidays but I annually donate to Toys for Tots in December.
Actually, I forgot I did bell ringing 2 years ago for the Salvation Army with my son when he was 4. We toured the Salvation Army food pantry so my son could learn about how families cannot afford food for their families or presents for the holidays. He explained to a nice couple and a few others we made contact with at our grocery store bell ringing site that some families can't buy the same things that people had in their cart, or even receive a gift. Maybe because it was a cute kid explaining the spirit of giving, but we generated the most in donations that week.
I definitely donate money/food/things around the holidays. I wish I thought about it more year round. Most of the places I look into don't need help or can't use it when I'm free around the holidays.
Stupid people (and myself) with their guilt for not giving back other than at the holidays.
