You list the generic Google domain in regards to SOPA/PIPI but I think the better URL is https://www.google.com/landing/takeaction/

It includes a nice graphic, but links to their online petition in opposition and more info about the acts in question.

I'm a bit confused here. While I realize the Democrat lead Senate is still trying to pursue the bill that Obama has indicated he'd sign, but didn't the Republican lead house kill the bill?

See: http://www.examiner.com/computers-in-denver/house-kills-sopa

If I remember the my civics class at all (as well as a certain Schoolhouse Rocks video), I'm pretty sure a bill need to pass both houses to be able to come to the president's desk.

Or is this all about either:

1.) the ball was rolling too fast to stop it after the House leadership killed the bill; and/or
2.) To make a strong point to make sure that it stay dead (damn zombie bills and all)?

@thejackhole: holy BOC! I may have paid some attention in my civics class, but after viewing my grammar, I slept soundly during my English and Comp classes!

@thejackhole: And let me provide one more update, President Obama has indicated he no longer supports the bill. See: http://www.forbes.com/sites/johngaudiosi/2012/01/16/obama-says-so-long-sopa-killing-controversial-internet-piracy-legislation/

So, other than Reid in the Senate, it looks like the bill is dead at this point.

Of course, Washington DC is known for flip-flopping so nothing is over even if the fat lady sings.
