I would think most torrent sites would have them.

As an aside, do you think getting free ones from a public library is ethically better/different than from getting them from a torrent site? I can't think of a difference. Both get you something for free.

Not a torrent, but librivox.org has free public domain audiobooks.

In answer to your aside. I dont know .... I am just desperate for books at the moment so I am ignoring the concern. Though one thing that I find myself thinking is if I could have watched it on TV for free than I dont have any problem downloading it. They gave it out free last time so no diffrent than me downloading it so I can watch it in the format I want

@djbowman: I agree. If I am fast forwarding through commercials anyway, there really isn't a difference.

The Public Library.

Most Library's have a book exchange program, so if yours doesn't have the book/cd they can borrow it from somewhere else.

@benyust2: About your aside...

Because you are borrowing from the library, and stealing with a torrent.

@spacezorro: Ah but is it really stealing? Legally, theft is "the dishonest taking of property belonging to another person with the intention of depriving the owner permanently of its possession"

A torrent is a reproduction. Now copyright and fair use... that's another topic :)

@llamabox: So I can legally download copies of movies on the internet.

Thanks for clearing that up.

@chris12345: Agreed. Librivox.org is a good place to get a fix. Also try the internetarchive.org, which had mostly Librivox stuff but others as well.

I travel on the road a lot and used to listen to audio books to pass the time, but man they get boring with one person reading the whole thing, especially when a grown man tries to do the voice of a woman or little kid. I'm all about the old time radio shows now. Multiple actors, sound effects, high drama and great cheesiness. Keeps me awake much better. You can find a ton of them at the Internet Archive.
