Is there a connection between today's stock market drop and the Woot-Off?
Today the stock market plummeted. Is it just a coincidence there is a Woot-off every time the market tanks? I think not.
I suspect that most of the type-A Wall Street traders are too busy hunting deals on Woot sites instead of watching trades on the big screen. We know how addictive Woot is. Wootbot panders to our basest needs. Jumbowoot stays up late thinking of ways to entice us. A quick peek at a BOC and we are glued to the screen. Classic tricks that lock short attention span traders into chasing the deal.
The brokers inattention is strangling international commerce and crushing the economy. Maybe Woot should block IP addresses from Wall street as a public service. After all, if the economy is down, we won't have cash to spend at Woot. It's called enlightened self-interest Woot.
