Wow, you were quick! I just barely got through being startled by it, and spent a few minutes looking it over. Here's hoping for something interesting to show up in the next few days. I really don't need wine glasses.
Great addition. Looking forward to good deals.
Definitely seems like a good fit for the Woot family.
I have a feeling I'm going to achieve a black box before long.
Depends on what part of home ...
- Home decorating, meh. I'm not the one to ask, answer, or care what shade of puce looks the best with that throw pillow.
- Home furnishing ... why not, especially if they keep the $5 shipping.
- Home repair/improvement ... my wallet is going to HURT.
Unsure about this one - it's so connected to woot.com. Today's woot is fire extinguishers, pretty much a 'home' item. Other most recent woots - 2 electronics, a fan and lock&lock containers. Home items? Yup! Wine glasses would have been a good fit in wine.woot. As several people said on the home blog - What's up?
@gmwhit: While I agree with you that at a certain point categorizing specific products to specific sites is absurd, especially when main.woot offers everything under the sun and the other specialty sites sometimes go beyond the scope of what their name connotes, the bottom line is that we are getting more stuff to shop for each day at discounted prices.
I don't think anyone will say that is a bad thing except for the one that has to photograph all these items (posted a few weeks back in world of woot).
I think we must all wait for a few more offerings to determine whether or not a woot site is "worthy".
@pooflady: Unless I'm mistaken, the triangle is your reputation on deals.woot only. Buying products on the other woots and/or commenting on their respective blogs won't change your color.
@gmwhit: Triangle yes. Square, no. I've bought from woot mainly off the main woot and shirt.woot. I'm pretty sure I've yet to buy off of sellout, but my wootcount is about where it should be.
@gmwhit: No, that person's comment was about the original box that denotes how many woots you have purchased (black = 100+).

My apologies to @pooflady. Sorry, I misunderstood what you said. Thanks to all who explained it to me. Note to self: A triangle is NOT a square. Nor is a circle or a parallelagram, etc. At the rate I'm going, I'll soon lose my black triangle, and never see a black square. :::sad sigh:::

I think it's a good idea, but as others mentioned, it depends on the type of stuff they sell. I'll definitely be watching.

Woot destroyed the balance of the home page when launching this. If you look at the right side under the comments section you will see a blank spot now. When Home.Woot didn't exist, a blank spot did not exist.
(someone has to complain about something right?)

With the housing market the way it is, perhaps Woot should look at actually selling homes to boost our economy. Do it Woot. I dare ya. Sell a house. C'mon, you know you want to. And if you do, make sure it's heavily equipped with leakfrogs in every corner of the basement.

I was surprised! They made a big deal about Local, and I dont think they even mentioned Home. Looks interesting. I'll certainly be keeping an eye on it to see what they sell (I hope they move all the computer stuff there)
Not happy at ALL.... now my wife will be buying stuff "we" need for the house and cutting into my stuff "I" gotta have budget for the other woot sites. Maybe I can just convince her they sell houses on home.woot..... god you gotta love blondes. :)

As others have said, I'm pretty excited for the fact that this brings another new Woot item to the table every day. And since it's home-based goods, the item will probably BE a table. Unless Table.Woot is next in line, in which case who can say which site will bring tables to the table?!

I am more grateful than ever now for the daily Woot emails to quickly assess the Wootosphere. And I hope that maybe an exclusive Home.Woot will mean more of an emphasis on electronics on regular Woot.
Definitely spotted this today, and am moderately amused, because we've had 3 or 4 threads about what the next woot site would be, all of them ending up with "it needs to be sufficiently broad, like home.woot or something" and now there is one. It's almost like they read these things...
