how about just one song? yes, i specifically picked this group singing

Making Up: Baby Come Back by Player

Wedding: Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley (I consider it sweet and great for showing my undying love)

Child: Anything Like Me by Brad Paisley

Final Battle: Final Battle song from Final Fantasy X because it's awesome.

Death Scene: Ain't no Rest for the Wicked by Cage the Elephant

Funeral: I'll be missing you by Puff Daddy

End Credits: Still Alive by Jonathan Coulton. That way, there's potential for a sequel.

Whew, that was hard to find all those.

This is such a hard question! good one, but hard. Most of my life can be summed up by the music of Hank III.

Opening Credits: Straight to Hell
Breaking up: Three Shots of Whiskey
Life: Lovesick, Broke and Driftin'
End Credits: Weed, Whiskey and Women

the predominant theme
most likely would be
the twilight zone

Opening Credits - Star Wars Theme

Waking up - Keep your head up by Andy Grammer

School - Don't give up by Bruno Mars

Falling In Love - Im Yours by Jason Mraz

Breaking Up - In The End by Linkin Park (or any Linkin Park song) (T_T)

Wedding - Rockabels Canon in D by ThePianoGuys (seriously)

Birth Of Child - Never gonna give you up by Rick Astley (hey, it's true)

Final Battle - Duel of the Fates by Star Wars EP1

Funeral - Somewhere over the rainbow (used it for my grandmother earlier this year, r.i.p.)

End Credits - Top Gun Anthem (epic proportions)

Edit: And congrats to your engagement again @gidenfrost!

Wow, this question is really, really hard!

I have some sappy songs in my head from The Sound of Music and The Wizard of Oz but I think I will spare myself the embarrassment of actually naming them. :)

Really hard indeed, I seriously answered all my questions the way I wanted it (and took forever getting links up) and I guess it's no bueno.

I guess I read the question wrong.. I just found it hurtful on the negative feedback there.

Thanks @gideonfrost for the question! Please excuse me for not participating, but just the thought of trying to assemble appropriate songs makes my head hurt. I'd also like thank everyone that did post lists (especially @captainsuperdawg @gideonfrost and @joshobra for all those links)! I had a lot of fun browsing songs, many of which were outside my normal purview. Two songs I hadn't heard and especially liked were Anything Like Me and Rockelbel's Canon in D.

falling in love: i'm yours
breaking up: santeria
school: tetris
mental breakdown: lonely day
life: people are crazy
funeral: lilium

making up: picture

this is fun! i'll finish the rest when i come back from work

I can't help but think of the episode of Family Guy when Peter is granted a wish to have his soundtrack of life playing all the time as performed by John Williams... Good question, BTW, but too much work on a Sunday morning... :-)

It is really hard. It took me over an hour. to make my post. I should have done it before I asked. I would have taken off some categories.

Too hard for me, so I'll just choose any and all songs sung by The Wiggles.

@longs2bfree: Finally a list where I recognize most every song!

For next time, here's how to make the links and fancy it up a bit:

@gionot: You're very welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed that song as much as I did! The piano guys are truly amazing musicians. I seriously spent a whole day listening to their songs over and over on YouTube when I first heard them.

@joshobra: Love Over the Rainbow! Excellent choice!!!

I LOVE this question :) I don't have time at the moment to come up with my list, but I will definitely be back a bit later to do it :D
