Are there any truckers here?

I'm just finishing up getting my CDL so I can get some money saved up for college. Just have to take the driving part of the exam.

What companies are ones to avoid at all cost and what ones take rookies?

I've browsed some of the trucking forums but a lot of the truckers who post there seem to be lazy and don't want to follow regulations.

What advice ya got for me.

One of my sons is...my grandfather was as well. One brother-in-law used to be and another one is.

SWIFT is a good place to start - put in about 2 years there for training, then you'll have your credentials to drive for a better company.

(And, I'm not a trucker - just the offspring of truckers...)

Oh, I do know you're supposed to keep two log books. A real one that you keep out of sight, and the one you show the cops, called "the comic book".
