Does anyone know any relief tricks for an itchy cast?
Broke my wrist a couple weeks back and the cast is almost unbearable now. Tried snaking a bent hanger in there but it didn't do any good. Any suggestions?

When my mom broke her ankle a while back, she used a blow dryer to blow cool air (so, basically a focused fan) into the cast. She said that helped.
blow dryer on cool setting. Use a flattened paper towel tube to aim the air stream farther down. Refrain from talc powder, that crap will be temporary relief then build up. If it has to be scratched, use a straw.
Coat hanger did the trick for me when I broke my wrist. I have a couple scars on my arm though from where I scratched and broke skin.
Thanks for the quick answers. I'll try the hair dryer asap.
*And it works wonders. Thanks again.
You really don't want to do any actual scratching. Under a cast is a great place for bacteria to grow. You could get a nasty surprise in the form of a nasty infection when the cast comes off if you do.
You cast itches (and probably stinks) because of bacteria growing in the lining of you cast which is continually moist from perspiration (yuk!). The CastCooler will quickly dry that moisture and eliminate the source of the bacteria growth. Bye bye itch and odor. You will be much more comfortable.

Yes, don't use any makeshift items,
but the Castscratcher is specifically designed
to gently rub the itch in your cast.
