Can you help us find a decent little entry way table/desk?

I just measured and there's a whopping 18" wide to work with- deep, no more than 2 feet at the very max and height is negotiable.

What I would like is something to throw my keys on or mail I need to take out. I'd love to have little drawers to put junk in, and if it's part wine rack, hey, I always need a reason for more wine, right?

I've just been at such a loss. I have a more "modern" feel to my home, and there are some great tables out there, but functionally- that's all they are, and I feel that's such a waste of space.

Oh! And as a side note- I love IKEA, but the one up here is a bit far, it may be the last place I go to, I want to see what else is around first!

Is it okay if it's dark-colored, like this one?

Start with an 18" base kitchen cabinet instead of a table. 24" depth is standard, 36" tall with a top. You'll get your drawer and a large space below for wine storage.

@jsimsace: my only issue with that is that I'm pretty sure that it's the exact same night stand I use haha

@narfcake: That's a really good idea- I have a place I know of that I can ask them about that. The boyfriend would like to customize more than I have the patience for so that might be a decent project for him.

@okham: I LOVE IT! It's a teeny too big though which could matter since it's a tight hallway and may get in the way of the bathroom doorway. I'll have to remeasure and look, I really do love that.

Wow! You're getting some great suggestions! I had never thought of coming here with a question like this one. We're planning to overhaul the room from hell and now I know where to come for suggestions!

@magic cave the Billy shelves are just bookshelves, without the drawer or section that has the door.
