Brighthouse here. (aka TWC). You're doing a lot better than I am, speed wise. BUT, I'm very pleased w/the service. Went from a local telco to Brighthouse - saved $25 per mo. for the cable(w/dvr & 1 box), telephone service and internet connection. Faster internet connection and free U.S. long distance. I'm pleased. ::smug look::

20 Mb/s down, 5 Mb/s up.
I'm on Frontier Fios (was Verizon Fios, got bought out by Frontier. Same pipes tho). That speed is wired and on WiFi. My connection is solid all the time. I love it.

15.52 and 6.2, respectively on Comcast. I've noticed a wide variance (12-30) on download speeds which seems to depend on time of day. Whatever the speed of the moment, I'm seldom able to detect any variation.

@gmwhit: My sister (on the East Coast of Central Florida) changed over to Brighthouse last year and reports the same total satisfaction you do. Makes me envious.

Uverse. 10 down and 1.5 up. I need to look at what I'm paying for. Was on Comcast and changed for the better programing and cheaper.

42.83 Mbps down, 12.23 Mbps up. Verizon FiOS 35/35 plan.

did Time Warner buy out RoadRunner? years ago RoadRunner was separate.
i wish i could get U-verse or RR, but they don't reach here yet

13.18Mbps/0.49Mbps
RoadRunner (Time Warner Cable) in Flushing NY

I'd have to check it, but I believe I pay for 8M/256K (or 8M/320K).

@w00tgurl:

RoadRunner has always been the default ISP from TWC in NYC (you can also get Earthlink and a few others). I don't know the corporate intermingling but to my knowledge RR implies TWC.

@danpalm: I was embarrassed to add mine because it looks a lot like yours...but a little worse. If you don't mind, where are you in the states?

Time Warner Road Runner in NC: Down - 21.22 Mbps, Up - .98 Mbps

Paying for business class comcast at 22 down and 5 up but am getting around 54 down and 12 up.

I just switched from Comcast (20-30 Mbps/~6 Mbps) to Verizon Fios (12 Mbps/2 Mbps). The difference is noticeable, but not significant. Definitely not worth paying extra for faster speeds.

I got tired of Comcast raising prices and charging me for stuff I don't want and dumped them 8 years ago to go to DSL and Direct TV... Just over 3Mbps down and about 750Kbps up...

Impatiently waiting for FIOS....

On the hated Comcast, DL 17.24 UL 4.10, Tech was here yesterday because "leakage" had been detected. They found nothing, but the tech recommended and downloaded new web browser for me to try - SRware-Iron. Anyone have it?

@klozitshoper: Never heard of it before, but I did a quick search and found what the wiki has to say: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SRWare_Iron

@90mcg112: Thanks. There is a lot I don't understand, but will read more carefully with my glasses on! Not using it now, but I did last evening, and it seemed to be uncluttered and got me where I needed to go.

@klozitshoper: Hmmm, that browser sounds pretty nice, might have to check it out.

@klozitshoper: From the wiki: "SRWare Iron, or simply Iron, is a free and open-source web browser implementation of the Chromium source code
[2] which primarily aims to eliminate usage tracking and other privacy-compromising functionality that the Google Chrome browser includes.
[3] While Iron does not provide extra privacy compared to Chromium, it does implement some additional features that distinguish it from Google Chrome, such as built-in ad blocking."

@klozitshoper: Just to let you know, that's my new favorite browser. (mod edit: profanity) is fast.
