questionswhat were you wanting for christmas that didn't…

A drama-free family gathering. It wasn't too bad this year, but it had its moments. Thankfully, due to my husband's work schedule, the trip to visit my family occurred over the weekend and we got to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas day at home. Would have been better if my daughter hadn't gotten sick, but it was still a nice, relaxing day with my favorite people. :-)

As far as 'stuff', there wasn't really anything I was expecting this year, so I wasn't disappointed. :-)

I got a quiet Christmas at home with my daughter, no other relatives and so I'm happy on that front.

On a purely selfish and materialistic level, I really wanted a Kitchenaid mixer and (obviously) did not get one. Those things are a bit too pricey for my friends or family to spring for.

I have a friend who has decided he should learn to cook (well, a little bit anyway) and he says he wants a Kitchenaid. Since he is not an on-line shopping kind of person, I did a quick search on craigslist and there were a lot available near where he lives. There was a range of prices but I think this might be a good time of year to pick up a gently used mixer from someone who got a new one....

cf cf

an official red ryder carbine action two-hundred shot range model air rifle. but they kept telling me i'd shoot my eye out.

@cf: There's nothing "gently" used about my stand mixer. That poor machine, she's the 'rental car' of my kitchen.

I was slightly hoping for a Kindle Paperwhite, but I can wait :)

@thumperchick: I wanted one too. So I got it for myself: it arrives today!

I wanted more space in my flat. Missed out on that one...

@cf: Craigslist is amazing if you live in or near a major city. Out in the middle of nowhere, Mississippi where I am, not so much. Free kittens and rusty old washing machines is what we get.

A J.J. Watts jersey or a Dynamo jersey. Guess I'll just have to settle for my new son.

A drama-free Christmas. Unfortunately didn't happen as I ended up with one of my best friends mad at me for a misunderstanding gone HULK! It's all good now, but it certainly upset me most of the day.

If we are talking about an actual item...a Wii. I've been wanting one for years, but no one seems to think I deserve one. I am however, happy with the DS and 3DS games I got, at least I can keep myself busy during the slow days at work :)
