Did anyone watch WrestleMania last night? What did you think?
I thought the Undertaker/HHH match was much more exciting than last year. And I was surprised that The Rock got the win in the main event. I'm not a big Cena fan, but I thought for sure they'd give him the rub, so to speak. I really enjoyed the finishing sequence to the Jericho/Punk match, too. Overall, I thought it was a good show, a lot better than last year's show. What did you think?
I did not, but I have a couple of friends who are hard core wrestling fans (one in particular wrestles some on the indy circuit and does a podcast) and they were not pleased with it.
Some of it seemed kind of fake...
I thought the Undertaker/HHH match was an instant classic. That match was the only reason I shelled out the $ for the PPP. It was, in all liklihood, the Undertaker's last match and I did NOT want to miss it.
Punk/Jericho was highly entertaining. Cena/Rock was fun and a 'surprise' ending to me.
Overall? It didn't whet my appetite for Wrestlemania 2013 or make me decide to become a wrestling fan again. But I'm glad I watched!
I plan on downloading it tonight. Really want to see the HHH/Taker match.
Kind of unrelated, but do they still have that guy who yells "You just got ran over by the ho train" at people? That guy amuses me.
@wnyx585am: One of my original tags was "fake" as a nod to that, but the powers that be removed it. :-)
the terms "wrestlemania" and ""think" just seem to be out of place together in the same question.
@defragmeout: Oh, I remember him. That was "The Godfather". No, he's not around anymore.
True story: We where on our way to a Smackdown! taping here in Houston years ago. Sitting in traffic we saw this group of women come walking by us on the sidewalk. Being the smart@$$s that we are someone made the comment about them being ho's. Sure enough later that evening, this group of ho's comes out on stage as The Godfather's ho train. We almost fell over laughing so hard.
No lie!
@wickedd365: The rumor at the time was that they routinely hired local "talent" from an area strip club to appear as the ho's each week.
People still watch (and pay to watch) "wrestling"?
