Does anyone else find the unsubscribe message funny?

I just unsubscribed from a thread on here for the first time in recent memory and got this message:

" Hey, didn't we have a good thing going?

You're REALLY going to unsubscribe from this question?

Really? REALLY. You won't get any more updates when someone else comments or asks a question or compliments your hair style. Okay, fine. But one of these days you're going to have to finish something that you start, y'know."

Just thought I'd share because it made me laugh and I'm assuming I'm not the only one who hasn't seen it until just now

Even more funny (ironic?) is no matter how many times I try to subscribe I never receive notifications..for anything. And, yes, I've cleared my cache/cookies/logged out, etc.

@ohcheri: Same thing happens to me every now and then. In my experience I seem to miss just the first couple, but I'm anal and check the thread myself anyway..so after a post or two following my first, the subscription seems to kick in

@thedogma: I haven't had a notification since early November. Maybe @jumbowoot still gets notifications and he can tell me why.

@ohcheri: There was a weird reset on Woot. You have to recheck the option in your personal Woot settings. At least that's what I had to do a few months back (just click on MY ACCOUNT up top)

@abramokids: Yep, did that, too. For awhile I was checking it every day and it kept resetting me back to "No", now it sticks on "Yes" but I still don't get notifications.

@ohcheri: what browser are you using? I used to have this weird error in Firefox where EVERYTHING I did on woot gave me a server error. No one on Woot could figure it out. It ended up being some glitch in the very very internal settings of Firefox. Reset a couple of things and it fixed that error.

Could be something similar, where a setting in your browser glitched and messes up the subscription

Geez, why so negative?

You have to vote up more before you can vote down.

Don't get us wrong. Negativity has its place. And downvotes are just as essential as upvotes when it comes to making Deals.Woot a useful place to find deals.

But when your votes lean so heavily toward the dark side, we have to wonder. Go vote up a few things. Accentuate the positive for a little while. It'll do you some good, and it'll do the site some good, too. Then you can get back to dealing out the smackdowns, OK?

Well, that's a bit tricky. See, we do a lot of stuff with your vote, using it to work out the popularity of what you voted for, compare that to all the other things voted on, tally up our leaderboard, work out your reputation. Someday we'll do a little cartoon showing just how hard your vote is working.
