I had my laptop stolen; know of any good laptop deals?

Two days ago I had someone break into my car and steal my laptop from my trunk. I need a new laptop pronto, nothing super fancy but it needs to semi-powerful, durable, and reliable. I am pretty set on a ThinkPad Edge E430 for $509.00 dollars and was wondering if that is a good deal or if you have a better laptop deal?

Here are the specs on the computer I'm looking at getting:
Processor: Intel Core i5-2450M Processor (3M Cache, 2.50GHz)

Operating system Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64

Display type 14.0" W HD (1366 x 768) LED AntiGlare

System graphics Intel HD Graphics (WWAN or mSATA capable)

Total memory 4 GB PC3-12800 DDR3 (1 DIMM)

Hard drive: 320GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm (I don't need a big one I have an external one for most of my stuff)

Battery: 6 cell Li-Ion Battery

Even though some people do not like the Edge, I love mine and highly recommend it.

I have an Edge E520 and paid similarly for the laptop. The battery life is the best thing about the laptop in my opinion.

If you live near Rapid City South Dakota or are planning a trip to Mt Rushmore in the near future, the college there sells 3 year old tablet pc's. I'm not talking android tablets, i'm talking convertable laptops such as the gateway 295. They sell for $275 plus tax. The college that sells them is the south dakota school of mines and technology. These laptops were lended to engineering students who attend college. Every three years the tablet the student has been lending has been taken back by the school and replaced with a newer tablet. I currently have and use the gateway 295. it comes with an 80 gig hard drive, windows xp, a 2.2 or 2.4 gigahertz intel core 2 duo processor, 2 gigs of ram and a stylus for writing on the screen. They might be willing to ship them to people, but I'd suggest taking a look in person. brand new these tablets went for $1400. They also come with a 12 cell battery which lasts up to 6 hours on a charge, probably need a new battery though. More of a local deal.
