What's a good earphone for an iMac when I use Skype?

I've been Skyping with some friends who have a hard time hearing. What is a good earbud or earphone to use with an iMac that has a volume control and that doesn't cost a million dollars? Cheap is good.

Any good headset will work better than the built-in mic in you iMac. It's a fine mic, but for Skype it's best to have the mic as close to you as possible. Pretty much any USB headset will be a big improvement. I have one of those collapsable Plantronics headsets, which I can't recommend. Loose connection somewhere, which makes the audio choppy at times.

Any good PC will work better than the OS in your iMac. It's a fine computer, but for computing it's best to have the OS as close to you as possible. Pretty much any OS will be a big improvement. I have one of those compatible Windows 7 OS's, which I do recommend. No loose connections so far, so computing is rarely choppy.

The Dell site also has some recommendations.

You have to vote up more before you can vote down.

Don't get us wrong. Negativity has its place. And downvotes are just as essential as upvotes when it comes to making Deals.Woot a useful place to find deals.

But when your votes lean so heavily toward the dark side, we have to wonder. Go vote up a few things. Accentuate the positive for a little while. It'll do you some good, and it'll do the site some good, too. Then you can get back to dealing out the smackdowns, OK?
