News to me...thanks!! Good news, in fact. I guess this is another reason to continue w/Prime. The fact that they're releasing the old shows is good for me. I'm always late to the party.

Interesting. Now I am going to have to consider switching from Netflix.

I have Prime but haven't been interested in much of the prime streaming until this. Thanks for the heads up, I've always wanted to see the sopranos.

Is this like 'The walking dead is on Amazon.' mumble mumble for $42 a season?

vote-for6vote-against

@caffeine_dude: It's supposed to be free for Prime but they're not going to be showing the current season.

@zuiquan: I get 1-3 free on Netflix already. I just think it was misleading, when I cut the cable people said I could get the latest The Walking Dead on Amazon, what they forgot to mention was it was not included in the yearly prime rate. Do not get me wrong, the show is worth it but I did not expect to pay to see it.

@caffeine_dude: Yeah, but you're not getting HBO shows streaming on Netflix unless I'm out of the loop.

@zuiquan: My point was 'is HBO on Amazon going to cost more per episode\seson like The Walking Dead?

vote-for4vote-against

@zuiquan: I've been able to watch some HBO stuff on Netflix. Although, to be fair, I do still get discs mailed too and I can't remember which way I watched. Bored to Death is a fav.
I just checked. -- That one on Disc.

@caffeine_dude: It should not cost additional money to watch the shows falling under this agreement. These will be listed under Prime and will be free to watch since you have a Prime account.

@nmchapma: That's how I understand it, too.

There is a difference between Prime Streaming and New shows on Amazon. Prime Streaming are shows that are included, for free, with Prime; older shows, etc. Brand new shows still have to make money, since they aren't getting subscription fees, or advertising money, you're charged for the new shows.

This deal clearly states that you will get these HBO shows for free, with your Prime subscription.
