he shoulda went to the 49ers, woulda been a superbowl team if they had a Top quarterback instead of a good one

vote-for6vote-against

This should be funny.

Denver still has a poor receiving core with Eric Decker and Thomas as the best options, the o-line is questionable at best, hence the reason your QB was the number one rusher last year.

Guess what? Peyton won't be running like Tebow did, but if I was him I'd start praying now.

@drsilentg: Are you implying that Alex Smith is a good QB? I find that kind of funny. My friend used to say "Blaine Gabbert is a better QB than Alex Smith," and I'm inclined to agree with him.

I'm just glad it likely means Tebow-mania is being shipped elsewhere.

@yankeefan1087: "Serviceable when the ball is kept out of his hand"

Dude had more interceptions than TDs in his first 5 years. 53 vs 51.

I'm in Indiana, die-hard Colts fan......I'm pissed.

Peyton was our team, end of story, not happy he's traded.

vote-for2vote-against

All good points so far..that being said im no Bronco fan and im happy to see Timmy go even though i was rootin for him..you should never have to dummy up your offense to suit a QB...maybe a RB but def not a QB..

Couldn't care less. But, I respect that others do :-)

Is the answer Broncos' fans?

vote-for2vote-against

@linuxtrance: Actually it would have been better if he WAS traded. As it stands he left and Indy got nothing in return.

@drsilentg: Niners would have been a superbowl team if it weren't for Kyle Williams. Great player that he is (or was?), I don't think Manning would have done any better receiving punts.

@hossdawg97: They didn't get a player or picks, but they did save a ton of money / cap space which they can use to fill their many holes.

vote-for2vote-against

@hossdawg97: Except they didn't pay him his Roster Bonus of $27MM this year -- Asides from that, they didn't get anything... pffftttt

vote-for2vote-against

@hossdawg97: I meant dropped, oops. They saved some money, that's it. Luck looks good, but ya never know how that'll go.

Also, our defense is god-awful, we are going to suck hard this coming year.

I'm just happy my Seahawks got Matt Flynn without having to shell out an insane contract. When your team has problems at QB, your answer should never ever EVER be "Tavaris Jackson".

vote-for3vote-against

I think it is a win for the Bronco's front office. This was the only way that they could let go of Tebow without upsetting all of his fans too much.

I just hope the o-line will hold up for Manning's sake.

@woothulhu: you try being a good quarterback on the team he had changing coaches as often as he did. settle him down with a solid coach and what do you get? a run to the NFC championship game which they should've won.

vote-for2vote-against

@linuxtrance: he's not traded. He was let go by the colts,a dn then like anyone else would do, He got a job elsewhere.

@quailman: Oh i'm very versed in the Alex Smith saga, and even with all the peices you speak of, he still throws the ball a lot less than any other QB becuase of his sordid past.

Last year he had not one game passing over 300 yards, and only 4 where his passer rating was over 10, which was the same amount he had under 70. 3 of those were in the 60s. I will say he looked great in the playoffs, but still not sold. Another solid year and i'll start beleiving.

vote-for1vote-against

@woothulhu: So how do you see the Niners this year with their beefed-up receiving corps? They need a QB for sure.

vote-for1vote-against

@jsimsace: I love the team, and for their sake I hope they open up the field for Alex and he makes good decisions, but i don't think they'll ever win a super bowl with him at the helm.
